Wishful Wednesday - Bedroom

Welcome to Wednesday again! :)
Kelsey's topic this week is:
'I wish' .... I could come home to this
(have a look below please) bedroom every night!

Oh boy...if you google bedrooms you end up with a trillion different possibilities...there's this one and there's that one too and oh there's another one...my typical answer today! ;) I don't have my dream bedroom to go to each night, but it's ok. I have my bed and it's all that matters...my blanket's amazingly warm and cozy, too (considering we're having temps in the 40s lately it's a blessing!).
So, let's see what my dream bedroom could and should look like one day...simple, very special and just so very me... ;) Shall we?!

via
Love the above one. It looks cozy, and it certainly would calm me.
That's what's needed...a room that relaxes me and lets me dream each night.

But if I really could I'd buy me a house and make my bedroom look like the one below
*including the view of course*:
YES PLEASE!!!

And you should all know by now that I cannot settle for just one bedroom.
A combo of all of my choices would be awesome...but who am I kidding?!

So yeah, a combo of all three. Apparently I love the classic and clean look. Not much color and all. Just a haven to come home to and relax in and let the crazy world around me disappear for hours.

For more fun pictures hop on over to Kelsey's and play along or just read what others had to share.

Happy Wednesday.

May

Dear May,

Do you hold a grudge or something against us? What have we done to deserve this?!

We always loved you because you were the main month to look forward to enjoying before June and summer. You were the one giving us sunshine, mild and warm temperatures, and you let birds sit on our window sills and chirp beautiful songs. But, what happened?!
Ever since you started you let us down. You've been wining and letting us feel it all the way...every single day. I'm not the only one wearing gloves (!!!) again. This is not right. It's not. We seriously need to talk and get to the bottom of this. Or at least cheer up and let us enjoy the next two weeks with more sunshine, so our toes can breathe and our arms can feel sunshine again. Can you please consider this? We'd all really appreciate this. The picture below should be us having  a blast outside wearing sandals/flip flops or whatever else...just so you can pull yourself together, May, and reconsider your ugliness this time of year!!!

Thank you.

P.s. And if you are not a bit shocked about my talking to you in my "maybe" harsh sound...take it serious, May, because I've had it. I'm so disappointed I can't even put that into words.

Yes, you read right. I'm wearing gloves - in May.
How frustrating is this?!
I don't mind rain, but constant rain for two weeks goes beyond my toleration. I'm done with this month. Temps in the high 40s and lower 50s is bad. May's given me nothing but ugly and wet days (not the mention the hail business last week). My fall/light winter jacket is being used daily and my scarves and gloves too. It is fall all over again, or winter for that matter. No fun!!!!

May so far has been an absolutely awful month - weather wise. Job wise...let's not go there. Life wise...the first week of this rather cold month I've dealt with jet lag, readjustment to life over here again (no success so far), and well...just trying to live every day to the fullest. The only good thing so far has been using my laptop again watching my ridiculous TV shows (and yes I'm well aware of the fact that I said "my" shows) and seeing a very few friends. The best thing though was to see my cousin again. She lives in CT but had to come to a meeting over here, so she spent a few hours with me. At least that. But other than that, it's been just yucky and ugh.

 vie we ♥ it
On another note...my birthday is approaching. Yes. Not this month (thank you!) but next. Early in the month though, so the way I see it...if this ugly weather business remains as ugly until then I'm gonna freak out. Am I allowed to do so?! On my very special day?! What do you think?!
I'm not going to have a party. What I mainly look forward to is a cake. For years I've been wanting to get a cake on my birthday. In 2004 I got one (a bit earlier than my actual date but my dear friend R. baked one for me!!!), and ever since...no cake for me. So please keep your fingers crossed so my main wish on my b-day comes true...a strawberry cake with one candle!!! Ok, and good and dry weather too. ;)

I love the above picture. It discribes my thoughts at this very moment.
And yes, I don't mind anymore but I have a feeling it'll all work out somehow.

Oh yes, if you've read my posts from last year you know what I mean by saying "the summer misery's back"! It sure is. Maybe not as strongly as last year but it is. And, I can proudly announce that the reason why it's not as strong this time around is that I have a goal to look forward to. Or at least I hope it's a goal. Because, I don't mind anymore...I really don't. It's my life after all, isn't it?! I shouldn't try to please everyone else around me because even though this makes them happy it sure doesn't make me any happier. And right now, more than ever before, I can feel my urge again...the urge to start new. So hopefully my 2010 summer misery is going to kick some butt and allows me to focus more. :)

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.
Mine sucked even though I had two days off.
It started with rude people trying to tell me that a new cellphone will cost me about $800 (!!!!!), and that I need a new monthly plan anyhow which doesn't give me anything (no free minutes, no free texts, no nothing but a monthly plan bill of either $25, 35, or 75!! plus of course whatever I'm gonna use, so I would end up with a fortune spent on the phone plus the phone charge! NOT WITH ME!!!!). Oh yes, there's a plan that'll allow me to have unlimited minutes, texts, internet access etc...how fantastic is that?! But it also costs me $169 a month! Yes, you read right. Welcome to my crazy world!!!

Enough blablahhhhh from me.
Happy, happy Monday!!!!

Philly in Pictures...

...almost...can't believe I am posting two entries today. I'm on a roll. Ok, it is Friday...and this Friday means two things:  Lauren's Fill in the Blank Friday, and Kelly's Friday Funny.
So far, I managed to do Lauren's...Kelly's...I'm still working on it...I need to find fun in my life again. Yes, everyone...it's back to not being a good week. I blame it mainly on the weather. Ever since I returned it's been raining. Yes, I'm not making this up. It's been raining for almost two weeks now and it's just very frustrating and not a lot of fun. I haven't seen the sun since I left Philly on my departure day (and then I even went out for a long walk in my sandals, and tried to suck all the sun in...so it would find its way to Europe, obviously it didn't work!). Ok, last Saturday for like 20 minutes she came out. But that's about it. So my sad week, and my rather weird mood can be blamed on the weather!!!!! Yes.

Change of topic:
I promised more pictures...and here is more:

:)
Looks like as I'm a spokesperson for that drink in my hands!! I'm not.
Just was holding my friend A's bottle too... ;)
What was I doing with my toes?! I wonder. ;)
Dancing so the Phillies would win! Right...they lost! :(
Know who that person is?!
I won't tell. ;)
Love this pic. Even though the guy who took it is also in it due the sun and all...of course, we weren't thinking when we took the picture...we just wanted to find a spot that allowed us to look over the entire area...climbing up was hard. ;) Especially since everyone was leaving.
Now...random art throughout the city. Love this one.
One of my favorite buildings in Center City.
For those in Philly...it's where Olive Garden is, a slight bit closer to Macy's...not one really looks up but it's right there!!!! :) Amazing spot and I think it's empty!
do I need to say more, nope
They had this flower show at Macy's...and I went a this giant thing
Have I mentioned City Hall's my favorite building?!
Love the skyline...not the best shot but still. ;)

Have a terrific day! :)

Fill In The Blank Friday!!!

So, considering I skipped so many Fill In The Blank Fridays, I forced myself to participate today. I just had to. I woke up and knew it was Friday and time to play along. I always loved it, so I felt sad not having enough time to sit down and fill those blanks out. Then again, spending time with family and friends, and exploring Philadelphia on its most gorgeous spring season was worth it...so forgive me for that. ;)

I'm back in my current home. Back at work, and sort of back to regular life schedule and routine...so here I am...and here are my "answers" to Lauren's fabulous blog and her weekly fun:

1.  The very best thing about the summer is   the warm days filled with sunshine, sandals, soft fabrics, colors, iced lattes, summer events, and those very comfortable warm summer nights when everyone stays up late, peferably outside, enjoying summer air and good times with friends/family/or just very good company.

2.  My first crush ever was   a boy I met in camp around 4th or 5th grade. Gorgeous blue/greenish eyes, dark hair, funny, fast, and just super cute. Later on we'd go to the same junior high, too. But the spark was gone. And today...just his eyes stayed the same, but when I do see him...I wonder what I thought back in the day  .

3.  This may sound really silly but   it looks like I'm obsessed with underwear. Ha! Yes, weird I know. Whenever I see some new and cute stuff I'm buying it. My drawer is filled with tons of it. Though the main reason behind my obsession is this: I don't want to run out of it...so I'd rather have way too much than hardly any and therefore would have to do laundry once a week or more often *which I don't do at all*, so that's that. Yes, silly...but oh well.

4.  I squeeze my toothpaste from  the middle of the tube. I never think to squeeze it from the end. But when it slowly comes to the last "drops" of my favorite toothpaste I start to work hard on my squeezing efforts and that from the end. Then it bugs me and I wonder why I never start to squeeze from the end in the first place...it just doesn't make sense. ha!

5.  My absolute favorite "comfort food" is     raspberry muffins from Starbucks (no judging please!!). It used to be donuts from a bakery but they stoppped making donuts so I had to find something else, and those raspberry muffins...just yummy and worth every calorie.

6.  A random fact about me is that   I wanted to go to NYU or Columbia years ago. Don't remember how I got to have that idea but I did. My godfather even supported me on that. Then things changed and I went returned to the West Coast. I don't know if this is random or a fact or both, though. ;) .

7.  The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is   my laptop. It connects me to the world, keeps me in touch with friends and family all over the world, lets me watch or catch up on TV shows I miss and can't watch over here (or could watch but they are so behind in seasons it's ridiculous - reruns are fine with me, but if I have to watch a season for the 3rd time it gets boring), and it keeps me grounded. Yes, sounds ridiculous. But it definitely does. And yes, I know I am a dork. ;)   .

To play along just go over to Lauren's blog. :) It's definitely worth it!!! :)

Happy Friday Morning!

Tag, You're It

Yes, I got tagged. Doesn't happen often but when it does I just think it's cool. Yes, I'm a dork. You haven't noticed yet! Oh well...now you know. :) The lovely Angela *you better check her blog out, too* ;)  tagged me and here's what I have to do...

Rules:
1) Go to your photos files and select the 8th file.
2) Select the 8th photo in that file.
3) Post that photo along with the story behind it.
4) Challenge 8 blog friends to do the same.

Not as easy as it sounds...when I tried it I ended up with no picture...or one of a building that wasn't visible at all so no. I tend to keep my pictures...as ugly and blurry and invisible the object may be I'm holding on to them. So I don't want you to stare at an ugly image taken by me in 2007 or 2010...so I had to work on the 8th album. I have only four anyways...so I just counted from right to left eight times and ended up at one album, selected it and then found weird pics...selected the eight picture I go by counting down the right side of all my lined up pictures going down...and here's what came out:

So sorry I'm not in it!!! I took this one, ok?!
This is one of the most famous sights of...wait for it....Berlin!!!
Historically...I'm just in awe. If you haven't known I love history *not going into details what parts I love but it's many*...among so many fave parts WWII is one, too. As tragic and brutal it all was, it's one of those years that fascinates me when it comes to the question WHY. Just that. It grossed me out and it scared me, and it saddened me, but all in all...every time I'm in Berlin and walk up and down streets, alleys...I'm just astonished by its massive history, and possible thousands of stories one city, one building, even just one person could share. Love Berlin.
Wish I could go back this year. I might. Just for a few days. It's my favorite city in Germany. Never thought I'd say this but it's true! :)

More about the church in the above picture click here.

So, and now I must/should/will tag eight great bloggers

Sierra @ OceanDreams
Erin @ Living and Loving in L.A.
Mara @ M Loves M
Katinka @ Germarican...
Katie @ The Adventures of Katie and Josh
Sam @ The Married Couple
Krysten @ After 'I Do'
Sara @ One Long Road

So, that's about it. Could have skipped the tagging part but oh well...I decided not to be lazy today. ;)

Have a great day everyone!
