Going to Europe

Hey everyone.
Remember me? I cannot believe that I have been absent or not fully around for a long time. I miss reading your stories and catching up on what is going on. My finals are all over, and I am waiting on one class to tell me whether or not I actually passed...it would be nice if that happens today. Please!!!

In other news, I am leaving for Europe this weekend. It's a little weird knowing that I will be away again for the summer. I did not plan this. However, my mom needs me and so I am going. I will miss my friends and family here dearly. California is my home now and it is difficult for me to acknowledge this fact as I am packing for the summer. Also, Europe is not really experiencing summer at the moment, so I'm not sure what to think of that. Knowing this makes leaving harder, but not as hard as a few other things. Not sure how I'm going to survive two months but they will make me stronger...now I just sound like a song. ;)

In other second news, I'm officially gluten intolerant. The only thing (and I'm so happy about it) that does not bother me as much is soy sauce. I am beyond happy. I can still eat my Sushi. :)  And I will tonight!

But yes, that's about it for right now.
I've been beyond busy lately and I simply could not open my computer and blog, too. Life happened. And quite frankly, it was nice to have a break from everything. Very nice!

I will be in this town here for the next few weeks...it will be a good way to relax and reconnect with friends.

Apparently I have to bring the sun with me. It's been raining non-stop there...they even had snow two weeks ago. So not ready for cold weather.

xoxo

Finals and such

No need to say more.
And I thought my finals were bad this semester.
Oklahoma is having a much harder day and week ahead.
My thoughts are with all the families who were not as fortunate today.

Enjoy the week my lovely readers. It's almost June!!!

Customized eShakti dresses make me happy

It may be a while since you saw a eShakti review. This is the exact reason I chose to wait a little until I shared my review with you. I chose to wait because at some point I got overwhelmed, and since summer is approaching it is time to think of a few new items in our closets. I sure will take advantage of that soon.

What I absolutely love about eShakti is that you can customize every single item. You don't have to but that's the beauty of this company. You can input all of your measurements - including chest, bust, under bust, waist, hip, upper arms, arm length and even hem length. The The dress will be made for you, and you only. The only problem you will encounter is picking an item because it took me forever to pick mine. Their selection is fantastic and it was very difficult to choose only one.

To top it all off eShakti has great customer service, too.

I chose a fun dress. I love it because it's blue and pink. You can adjust the neck/collar part too, just in case you get cold around your neck and don't wear a scarf. I like it a lot. Plus, my dress has pockets. I love pockets, especially on a dress. And yes, since you can customize the dress you can also tell them not to make pockets. After all it is about you and your dress and sizes. This exact dress isn't available anymore, but here is the same one just with one color. I am so going to order from them. I'm loving the quality, and the way you can literally get the dress that fits you.

Love my dress, and cannot wait to order more.
If you are looking for a new place to shop, where you can find different but phenomenal clothing items that will fit you once you hold them in your hand, then eShakti is the place you need to go to! After all, they design, and we customize.

Monday Morning Gossip - The Color Run

Good morning everyone.
Let's just say my weekend was long, colorful, and sleepless. :) But it was good.

Besides the usual last-minute final stress (two more weeks, two more weeks), I managed to crawl out of bed at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning so I could volunteer at a marathon in the middle of nowhere. The city girls, my roommate M. and I, were thrown into the wilderness. We had to read a pamphlet explaining what to do when meeting/seeing/spotting mountain lions. You should have seen our faces and heard our discussions. We survived three hours of volunteering, handing out water and Gatorade, not getting attacked by wild beasts, and cheering the running crowds on. Oh yes, they were running 20k's and 12k's. Impressive. I couldn't do that.

But I could do the following 5k again. :)

The Color Run!!

I'm impressed my phone made it without getting any color on it.

My friend's work was crazy enough to do that same exact run, too.
OneScreen Team in full force and all clean right before the run started. :)

On our way closer to the end we decided to slow down because funny group pictures had to be taken. :) Never mind my face!

My friends and I had a blast...we were seven people, plus the OneScreen crew...at some point we lost each other but made sure to somehow find each other again. It was a colorful blast. One I'll be gladly doing it again next year (for a quick recap: last year's photos).

I'm still having pink on my skin since yes, that's the color that stays on the longest. Scrubbing, soap and whatnot sometimes help, but I love my skin too much and don't want to over scrub my body...so I really don't mind having some pink stains a little longer than usual. I'm sunburned, but energized. The Color Run isn't just a run, it's a fun-factor and brings people together. Glad I did it again, and glad my friends could join too.

That's my gossip for today.
I'm linking up with Leeann and her weekly Monday Morning Gossip. You should, too. ;)

The Color Run

This weekend I'm going to be colored all over again!!
I'm definitely excited. I did it last year and had a blast, so naturally, we decided to go again.

It is Color Run time!
And yes, I'll be power-walking...and not running. I wanna get some color in my hair too. ;)

Who has done this before and who hasn't?
I can't believe I'm doing this for a second time.

Last year's update can be read HERE.
I'm sure you recognize a few blogger ladies in the photos: Leeann, Kat, Tiffany, and Meg.

Cannot wait. This time with different people, but it will be a blast regardless.
Miss you girls!!

xoxo

Which One is Hotter?

What do you think?
Bradley Cooper or Ice Cream?
I can't decide.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

It's a busy day for me.
Three more weeks...three more weeks!

The Great Gatsby

So looking forward to this movie. I read the book, saw the original movie, and still I'm captivated by this trailer. And no, it's not because Leonardo is in it...I could care less. Yes, I admit it. What are your thoughts on this one?

Monday Morning Gossip

Linking up with Leeann today. :) To sum up my weekend: it was busy. I didn't do much for school, but enjoyed life a little. This just means I'm going to be screwed for the next three weeks studying hard and writing stories. Wish me luck.

The highlight of the weekend...was...

...and no I didn't go opening day/night but went early morning on Sunday...which was equally as good just because the super craziness most movie theater get in the afternoon or early evening didn't exist and we had practically the theater to ourselves and the best seats in the house. I call this successful. :)

How about you?
Have you watched it yet?
Will you ever?
Or not at all?

All I have to say is that this month is packed with movies and I think my wallet is going to suffer a tiny bit.

Happy Monday.

Get Summer Beautiful: Guide to the DIY Coconut Ginger Scrub

In this day and age, not everyone has the time to rush off to a spa or salon to get perfectly summer ready. But even if you're the farthest thing in the world from a beauty diva or don’t have the dollars to dole out on pampering, there are tons of easy at-home DIY spa treatments that are virtually foolproof for just about any busy lady. And now that spas have been identified as a key remedy to combat stress, who can afford not to?

At the Sheraton Waikiki Khakara Hotel and Spa in Honolulu, ranked prominently as one of Honolulu’s top hotels, guests can enjoy the beauty and tranquility of gorgeous Hawaii, in addition to some of the most luxurious tropical spa treatments in the world. This spa is considered to be one of the very best in Honolulu, for its staff of experienced estheticians and treatments made from and inspired by the natural beauty of the island.

Even if you can't hop on a jet right now and head to Honolulu, you can still enjoy a taste of the Khakara right in your own home with this DIY scrub made from ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.

The Coconut Ginger Body Scrub

You'll need:

2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1 tbsp Plain Applesauce or Apple Puree
1 tbsp Agave Nectar
1 tsp Ginger Powder
3 tbsp Raw Sugar (Granulated will work, but if you're a DIY scrub fan, then you should definitely keep a box of sugar in the raw in the house. Raw sugar granules are larger, which means it takes them longer to dissolve in water and have better exfoliating properties.)

What to do:

No special steps here! Mix all the ingredients together in a large dish or jar. The only pitfall to watch out for is the coconut oil. At room temperature, coconut oil can solidify. If you mash it with a fork, it will soften enough for you to easily blend into your scrub. Don't microwave it or heat it on the stove top; if it's hot, it will melt the sugar when you mix it into the scrub, negating the sugar's exfoliating properties.

To use this scrub, step into the shower and dampen your skin. Rub the scrub in circular motions all over your body to slough off the old cells. Rinse off. After you step out of the shower and dry off, finish with a fruity or tropical body butter for truly soft and rejuvenated skin. Enjoy!

I love coconut and a good DIY idea and I believe this is one of them. Personally, I can't wait to try it myself...our body needs to freshen up. After all, it's already May!
