Bye 2012

You have been good to me. You could have been better but you showed me that life is worth living, worth experiencing new, bad as well as sad things, and that is it worth exploring, meeting new people, smiling, laughing, dancing, and most of all spending time with friends and family.

I am looking forward to exploring and discovering more, to meeting new people, new opportunities, and finding my own path in life that allows me to stay true to myself. I am looking forward to shaping and engaging myself more and not to making myself change for others.
2013 I know you are going to be fabulous, enriching our lives every single second, filling us with wonders, and disappointments but also with hope. You are going to rock our world, our hearts and our souls.

Here's to you 2013...may you be a worthy follower of 2012.
I know you are!

Have a fabulous last day of this year!!

Firmoo - Glasses

I was contacted by Firmoo.com, a site that sells prescription glasses, sunglasses or just frames, and was offered a pair in exchange for a review. I decided to give it a try because I had read about them before and thought I couldn't lose a thing. As a contact lense wearer I am also in love with glasses and fun frames and I am willing to give my eyes a little break from time to time so new frames were really needed.

Firmoo.com has a fun collection, and once I decided on a pair I sent them my info and within a week I received a package with my own frames in them. This was pretty quick. Did I mention the first pair of glasses are free? No? Well, now you know!! I was definitely impressed. Unfortunately, it took a little while to try my new glasses on and write about them. Life took over, but now, I can't stop wearing them. I'm having fun!!!

I love the simplicity here...and the little extra these glasses have. Who doesn't like some color. I love those squares! They need to be adjusted but they still look fun on me.
Excuse my poor photo and pose quality...let's just blame the now gone jet lag for it.

What do you think?

I just needed a new pair. The one I chose is just a little too big for my tiny face but it adds character, and best thing, I don't get a headache (yet). So that's a bonus. I always have difficulties finding a great pair of glasses because of my tiny face, and I wish I had waited longer to order my free pair. They have amazing new ones available now at affordable prices. Go check them out.
Who said you needed to pay more than $100 for a new pair of glasses? Really. It's not worth it. But if you need to, they also have designer glasses.

So, if you are looking for new glasses, or even prescription sunglasses and want something new, I'd suggest looking into Firmoo.com. Why? Free, fun, and great quality frames!! No need to say more.

Friday's Fancies - New Year's Eve Outfit

Happy Friday everyone.

The end of this year is near. I am still in shock. Wasn't it just July 4th? Or heck, my birthday or even just Easter? WOW.  The older we get the faster time flies is what my grandma used to say. Grandma, if you are reading this somewhere up there with a fancy iPad or something or I'm sure you are given superpowers, then wow, you were so right. Seriously.

And if you wonder what Christmas looked and looks like in my little hometown, check Lacey's Christmas around the World post out. I was having fun walking through my city with a major jet lag the other day and taking photos. I did well I think. ;)

For today I decided to join Long Distance Loving again with her weekly Friday's Fancies linkup. This week it's all about what we would wear on NYE. Hmmmm, if we only celebrated here. We do, we do. But not fancy. I know I'll be wearing jeans, a shirt and warm boots. Boring. ;) So, I had fun creating a simple but elegant ensemble that made me smile and hope for a fun and classy NYE of 2013...yes, I can think ahead. ;)

And...it's all pretty affordable.
What do you think?

Happy New Year!

Have a great Friday, a fantastic weekend, and well, an awesome NYE on Monday if I don't get to talk to you before that.

December 26, 2012

That was December...

...remember, I wanted to update you all. I think it's time. What do you think? I know, long overdue but I thought with the year ending (and obviously not the world ending) I should look back and update a little so at least I can start 2013 beautifully.

Let's just say my finals went well even though I had hardly any time to study. I was busy running left and right, meeting my bestie, helping with the doggies, sending Christmas cards and presents, packing, shopping, living life obviously, and attending a Christmas/Birthday party in Hollywood. I really wished having at least two bodies if not three...but I managed it all and survived. Can I get a "yay!!" YAY.

And here are the photos.

I had had problems with my stomach for a while and went to see my doctor.
I was told I might have an allergy but I should look into everything longer and cut certain products out of my regular/daily diet. So...I stopped eating anything that had gluten in it. Had to go indulge in some yummy pizza before I did so. And Pieology (they have gluten free dough too) spelled my name incredibly interesting. Should I start spelling it with a C now?

Turns out I might not be gluten-intolerant so I'm okay...but I'm still cutting stuff out. It's an on-off project and my pain comes back from time to time...grrrrr.

Anyways, my bestie Sierra came to California (finally) and even though we literally failed to take photos with us I found a few I took while we were shopping at The Grove. We had a blast. Girls' time is always fun and always needed!

Right before my finals started my friend's holiday party as well as birthday party was held in Hollywood. One fully weekend full of fun and all I could think of was how I could and should remember parenting styles, stages of moral development, and how The Greeks treated women and glorified war more than their own flesh and blood. So, I took all my notebooks, my flashcards, my PJs, my black dress, my high heels and somehow didn't study. Whoops. But we had fun! :)

The W Hollywood was pretty amazing...and those rooms? Comfy. ;)
And yes that's not me in this photo...it's my friend M. posing for me because she does it so much better than I do. ;) Oh, and while we were taking a quick stroll around the hotel we found this lovely palm tree. Unfortunately we forgot to go back and add some more gum...but hey, we will do this next year for sure!!!

And as much as I'd love to share a photo of me from that party I would rather not. Let's just say we had fun, the shots were yummy and the photo booth was the best idea ever. The DJ sucked, but then we went to Drai's and everything that might have gone wrong before (not that anything went wrong besides the DJ) vanished in seconds. Good thing we all had a hotel room...driving back down to Orange County would not have been the best idea.

But here's two photos of my Christmas gifts this year.
For months I'd been looking at these Kate Spade Sunglasses. I was blessed enough to have awesome roommates who knew what I wanted. I am in love.

And my bestie spoiled me with a bunch of cute treats too. Among many my absolute favorite gifts of course were my awesome shirts from Splendid and Ella Moss - both are my very favorite!!! She knows me too well. Thanks again. Can't wait to wear them...could not bring them to Europe since it's so cold here.

And now I'm in Europe.
My flight went well. My finals went well too (if you were wondering).
Christmas came and is now gone.
I stayed home with mom. Didn't do a thing, didn't get any gifts so I dreamed of the ones I received before I left sunny California. My jet lag is almost gone but this time it's definitely a pain in the you know what. Never had such a hard time. So annoying. I'm determined to kick some ass tomorrow though and just ignore Mr. JetLag because that's no way to treat a girl like me. :)

But I have to admit I miss this little boy too and his fluffiness. ;)

Happy December 26!
It's a holiday here too, so nothing was open and I slept all day...and watched some holiday movies. Best time ever!

Merry Christmas from Europe

Merry Christmas to all of you out there.

Yes, it is the 24th. That's when people here celebrate and get together and yes, even open all the presents. Exactly, we don't wait until the 25th. Legend also has it that it's not Santa Claus who brings all the gifts. Shocked? Ahhhh, don't be. Different country, different culture, different view. My own opinion technically says that the 24th and the 25th are both days we can and should celebrate something and regardless of the presents (which we all know we always longed for as kids) should be cherished and valued each year in a new way. Some people take it for granted. Some don't even care. Whatever you do or don't do on these two days, remember to live life to the fullest, say thank you and please, and allow some time to reflect on the past eleven to twelve months. Remember the good as well as the bad times, and look forward to a brand new year welcoming you with open arms and lots of opportunities.

How I'm celebrating?
I thought I would see my family again and spend Christmas as usual with cousins and all but turns out...we are not so much on good terms these days. So I'm in Europe without any holiday plans, and yes I am my mom's Christmas gift and it's only going to be the two of us today. Tomorrow...well, the 25th will be celebrated with a couple (mutual friend of mom's and I) and we are going to one of my favorite expensive restaurants. Let's just say I see this as a gift. I will get spoiled by just eating there. Good, huh?

And yes, I will update.
But this holiday is not the time or place to do so...right after it...I promise.

So, whatever you do...stay merry, enjoy it, sit back and read or watch TV if you can't stand it, don't even get dressed if you don't have to, but hey, think back of what you have accomplished; even if this means you finally finished one book or a recipe you always wanted to try. Remember, even the little things are great accomplishments.

I have missed you all.

xoxo

P.s. if feels good to be online again...and yes, if you need to wonder...I do miss California at the moment.

Update

Hey everyone!

I have been M.I.A in a very literal way.
My reader is burning because there are just too many unread posts waiting for me.
Bear with me. ;)

Also, while I'm at it...I'll be traveling again soon.
I'll keep ya posted on my whereabouts, promise. I have now much more time to write and use the internet for something other than just research and all. Besides, I also need to update you on my December fun but that I will definitely do when I really have more time after my travel excitement. I cannot believe that this year is almost over...so much has happened...good stuff as well as bad and sad stuff. Life continues and we have to see and find positivity in everything we do...or at least try to find it.

Wishing you a wonderful early weekend.
I'll be seeing snow very soon. Too soon. I'm not ready yet.

Talk to you later, oh, no, write to you later.

xoxo

Done!

At least for this year.
The holidays can begin...
I can finally start packing...
I can finally concentrate on fun stuff...
And relax....

Who doesn't like that?

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Hope you're day is filled with something fantastic!!!!

Working Girl

I am working on finals.
I am a busy girl.
So excuse me while I kind of neglect the blogworld and focus on some other things.
Also, it's funny how this blog title perfectly fits with my current status...if I could (actually I can) I would be writing the following on Facebook (but I won't, don't worry!):

I am not only writing a final essay on the film Working Girl, I am a working girl.

Kind of ironic.

And oh yeah, it's supposed to be 52 degrees and raining tomorrow. Ehhh, no???! Please???
I want to have fun from tomorrow afternoon on...and rain will not really be that much fun.
Hmmmm....can someone please push those rain clouds away? Thank you.

Hope you are having a great week.
Bear with me. I'll be back early next week to tell you all about my hopefully fun and crazy weekend and final week. Great combo, I know.

Miss you all.

Getting Into The Spirit

{via}

Looking at images, listening and singing along to holiday songs and drinking some vanilla spiced eggnog is what gets me into the spirit?

What gets you into the holiday spirit?

On another not so fun note...
...one more week and then finals will bug me.
However, I am ready and determined everything will be fine.
Besides, my bestie is coming to town...so that's fun.
I'm still without a car which irks me a lot, so I cannot do as much as I would like to.
Thanks to her renting a car we both will be able to get places for a few days.
Hoping Santa reads my blog and acknowledges my urgent desire to get a car...
...because I'd love to see my friends that aren't necessarily living around the corner.
Grrrrr....

Santa?
Do you copy???

Diamonds!

Can't help it.
It's my favorite song of fall 2012!

Imagine driving on a cloudy, grey, and wet day...surrounded by trees with a glimpse of the ocean and birds flying above your head or something like that. Ya know, the typical romantic but fall-like scene that makes you cuddle up with a cozy blanket on the couch with a hot drink in your hand...and then this song. We have all experienced this...and certain songs just remind us of something or someone or let our imagination flow like a wild river going crazy after a storm.

This song does that to me. It inspires me. It works for me.

What song works for you?!

Quote of the Day

Really, this is what I wanna do today.
No school, no waiting, no listening, no taking notes, nothing...

December 3, 2012

Week{end} Update...

Well, I have been slacking off a little lately...so I thought I'd update you not only on one weekend but possibly also two. And probably show you that I'm still around, still care, still read but hardly find time to comment. So....be prepared for some picture overload.

So here it goes...

Thanksgiving weekend first:

This is not me in this photo...I had to tug someone in and pretend the pillows were a blanket. That is what I was told. Her new and probably favorite word is "pretend"...so we pretended to be asleep and use pillows as a blanket and all that...it was the cutest!

Ignore the wrinkles...but I wanted to share my Thanksgiving dress with ya! :) I love it a lot.
And Thanksgiving, or any other holiday needs to have something "weird" going on...look at the following photo...

And yes, that'll be me...with my new girlfriend... ;) No idea who stood behind me...but the dog loved me and this photo was captured right after she tried to kiss/lick me a billionth time.

I love Candy Canes...I just do...and photos that I took at 1 or 2 in the morning...while shopping!
And yes, I went to Black Friday Shopping...but as stated earlier...I wasn't going to get crazy and go all over...we did not stay in line, or fight for whatever. It was a chill morning. Loved it. We didn't even wanna buy anything just see how crazy it all was...and we were lucky, it was not crazy at all. Yay.

And now this weekend....or this past week so to speak...all via my Instagram.

First Advent...I just love the Christmas season!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend.
It was so gloomy here in southern California it was just perfect!
Three more weeks...I can do this!

xoxo
