Bye 2013 - A Review

2013 has slowly (or shall I saw quickly) come to an end. I cannot believe it has come and gone like no other year. Maybe it is because I have been incredibly busy or maybe because I am getting older that I feel every year goes by quicker than the last. Slow down life...I want a piece of your fabulousness every single day. I always wanted to post a little review, or recap, of how my year looked like and I always failed. Blame it on my laziness, my busy schedule, my traveling, or our wifi connection playing unfair games with me. This year I am prepared. My finals are wrapped, my soul and heart are at peace and relaxed. I think I can sit down and share my life with you all.

*for some unknown reason I am fighting with photo sizes and whatnot and if it all looks crooked or just odd I apologize - whatever I try to make it look "perfect" just does not want to work*

January
I went back to Switzerland for last year's winter breakand not only did I enjoy walking through my hometown and experience some snow (hardly any to be honest), I also got to meet up with Ashley who was visiting from London...even though we both live in California...what are the odds.

February
My lovely and very talented friend Erin ran the half-marathon in Huntington Beach. Had to meet up with her!! Btw, I think she decided to give blogging another try...I truly missed her on this platform but blogging doesn't even come close to show what an amazing person she is in reality.

March
Tourist time...my friend Amanda who guest posted a few times (here, here and here) moved to California and so wen went out and explored.

April
I went to the PetExpo and met "Stella" from Modern Family. Such a cute dog!!!
Also, I went to concerts and well took this picture with very talented Michael from Wakey!Wakey!

May
The Color Run was in Orange County...do I need to say more? My friend M and I looked like pink zombies. haha!

June
My Birthday, my time in Switzerland and my trip to Istanbul

July
Switzerland and Germany

August
My girls, picture 2005 versus 2013...hmmmm.
Back in the L.A. area again...August was fun!

September
Bachelortte Weekend in Solvang and Santa Inez...we were clearly not ready to pose or anything.

October
Pumpkin patch on campus...October 1 was when I got my baby pumpkins.

November
My trip to Sonoma earlier that month, and our bacon wrapped turkey...Happy Thanksgiving!!!

December
The dreaded finals - that's me all blurry at 7am in my classroom. That's how I felt all the time. Blurry. Exhausted. Glad it's over.

Here's to a more fun-filled, exciting, and fantastic year of 2014.
Even though my life plans have changed drastically in 2013 I know that next year will show me how beautiful life can be and how much I deserve to go for what I truly believe in.

Christmas Spirit in Orange County

For the longest time we have been looking for a long street with Christmas lights and what not. Up in Ventura County we knew of one street that had Christmas lights and music left and right. Not so down here in Orange County - a few houses here and there but nothing as a slow drive through an uberlit residential area.

We finally found it. It took some researching, and some determination to make the trip. Yet, we finally managed to head out on time, stand in line and enter the fabulousness of Christmas itself.

There's more but my ugly iPhone pictures will not do justice. It was beyond beautiful, magnificent, and just spectacular. We even sat on Santa's lap. It was what we all needed on this long weekend before Christmas.

For more info visit THIS page. It's a fun place to go to, and to listen to songs and watch the house change colors and "dance along". If you are in Orange County and happen to drive by...stop by the house between 5-9pm. There's donuts and hot drinks waiting too...plus, it's all free. So there's nothing holding you back from experiencing the Christmas Light Craziness. Well, expect for the Grinch further down that street...all alive and walking around...

I'm linking up with Leeann and her weekly (and this year's last) Monday Morning Gossip.

Happy Monday.

Zepter - Breathe Clean Air

Another year has come and gone, and we all know that Christmas is around the corner again. While most of us have done our Christmas shopping others are still trying to figure out what to get their loved ones. I belong to the latter generation. I am very behind and very last minute. This however gives me a better chance to actually look at the all wishlists my friends and family gave me and plan accordingly.

What I mostly value this year is to give gifts that can be used, and are actually beneficial. We all love socks, and we all love a new pair of sunglasses - but in the end it is not as beneficial as one would think. The beneficial ideas I am looking for are health and happiness. Winter with its dry, cold air and lack of sun is simply not good for our skin or our lungs. This is when I long for cleaner, healthier air or simply a system at home that keeps the air clean and eliminates dust, bacteria, and other pollutants.

So I found this THERAPY AIR PURIFYING SYSTEM by Zepter, an award winning company that is about educating, inspiring, and equipping consumers to live healthier, happier, and longer lives. They have been around for over 20 years and going strong.

http://www.zepter.com/MainMenu/Products/HomeCare/Therapy-Air/TherapyAir.aspx

This Therapy Air Purifying Systems offer significant relief from indoor air pollution, letting us breathe clean air again by eliminating dozens of harmful elements floating around in your environment, freeing us from obvious effects like asthma and allergies as well a quiet killers that cause serious side effects. We should be worried about the air we breathe. No, we should be afraid of the air we breathe! EPA studies have shown that indoor air pollution can be up to 100 times worse indoors than out. Nothing really can speak against cleaner air. I would say having a air purifying system in the house can become one of the best invested items.

The benefits of this systems are as follows

  • Kills bacteria, molds and viruses in indoor air.
  • Neutralizes disturbing odors.
  • Improves well-being with the natural Swisso Logical Aromatherapy.
  • Offers relief for people who suffer from allergies and asthma.

When it gets colder we know we are more prone to the flu or to a cold. Most people also suffer from any kind of allergy; dog or cat or just pollen. We know our air gets dirtier, too. So why not change this for once and for all - I just wish I had enough money to give all my friends and family such a system so that we could all breathe cleaner air.

I'm Alive - Christmas Miracle Video Included

But in the meantime...I'm sleeping, cleaning, organizing, trying to find gluten free ladyfingers, playing with two white dogs, revamping my blogs, catching up on my favorite tv shows, buying last minute Christmas gifts, and trying to enjoy every single day so that I can cry later on when I find out I failed all my classes. Okay, the last part is probably not true, but I barely made it. This semester was beyond tough hence the lack of posts and comments and all.  I am so glad it is over.

I am also so glad it is Christmas time.
I went to an assistant living center in south Orange County and besides it bringing back memories I felt we did the right thing to be present, to cheer them up and let them know that they are not alone, and that they are actually special. It was an emotional day. You either had to be strong and hold those tears back, or you left quickly, bawled everything out and then returned.
After our trip we discussed what we just saw, did, and made happen and then out of nowhere one of the girls mentioned the video below. I thought I'd share this with you before I stop writing and start cleaning (ugh!). I am sure you've seen this before, or maybe even seen it on my facebook wall because I had to share this. If not, here you go. Enjoy some holiday spirit - whether or not you celebrate Christmas...it is a holiday season here...and holiday seasons are magical.

Who would have thought!?

I am beyond exhausted.
I am drained.
I have no idea how I survived this week but I am done.

Expect multiple comments in the next few days...and posts as well.
I am back. I am ready. I truly have missed you.

Make Sure Your Mouth Smells Exactly Like Your Butt

One more week guys and everything will be over. I cannot even put in words how happy (and also sad - more on that next week) this just makes me. In the meantime I am busy busy busy. I do need breaks though....and my favorite thing to do then is to watch youtube videos. Don't judge. It's what it is. :)

Today, like on many other days...it is the Sad Dog Diary.
If you've seen it and love it as much as I do...you know what I'm talking about.
If you haven't seen it please do. It's beyond adorable, funny and just distracting.
A distraction is needed.

Santa Claus Day

{via}

Yes, Santa and his helpers aren't that cute or adorable in central Europe. The helpers are rather scary. Gosh, I remember when I was younger I was just terrified of them. December 6 marks the official Santa Claus Day.
If you now guessed (or perhaps know) Santa Claus does not bring presents on Christmas. Nope. It's baby Christ who does. Funny, huh?! But yes, that's that....I kind of miss this ridiculous scary December 6 tradition and the parades that follow. This is one of a few events in Switzerland I truly wish I could experience again. Wish I could beam myself over for a few hours - maybe one day this will be possible. Hahahahaha! I know, wishful thinking.

Ok, my lovely readers...two more full weeks of class including finals and on the 19th it will be officially over. I am already sick and tired of writing (not on the blog but it suffered too). I know I can do it. I just really want to pass my incredibly difficult writing class - I am already having nightmares...worse than when I was younger and knew those Santa helpers would scare me on the 6th.

Tuesday Jam

Three full weeks left and I can finally breathe again. I am not counting down the days because one, I am not ready for finals or that stupid research paper on knockoff fashion, and two, Christmas will be sad because poor Selma decided to not gift anyone outside of her immediate circle...which includes her roommates and bestie. I'm broke and cannot afford anything.

BUT...after these three weeks you know what's going to happen? I can blog again and sit down and read your blogs more as well. I am so stinking excited. I've missed doing this even just for an hour or two per day. It's been impossible so far. Everyone's complaining around me that I have gone MIA. And yes, I have. I am on Instagram and Twitter (more I than T lately) so that will keep some people entertained. :) Follow me. :)

In the meantime....this is my jam for Tuesday....enjoy!
Had to mix it up a little - did you know I actually like Country too?!

Hello December - update

{via}

The last month of this year has arrived.
I cannot believe it.
Where did the time go?

And why have I been so busy with everything but blogging?
However, as you may understand...there is a life outside this world and it requires me not to open the laptop and type and share my thoughts and feelings.
Though there are times when I feel I really do need to share or should share because it is my outlet of freedom and creativity.

So, three more weeks, my readers, and I can breathe again.
I am not counting the days or weeks because
this simply means I have only three weeks left homework, studying and going crazy.
HELP.
I can do this though. I know I can.

Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving with lots of food.
If you went on to Black Friday Shopping I hope you found what you were looking for and
did not go crazy or encountered craziness along the way.

I also hope that December is going to be a great holiday month.
Whatever you celebrate have a great month!

The Christmas tree will be put up today...with all its colors, lights and ornaments.

So, with that being said...
...Happy December!

xoxo

P.s. And as most of us know...Paul Walker died yesterday in a car crash.
What a sad sad ending to last month's festivities... :(

November 25, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!

Hey everyone,

This week is going to be super short. Not only do I only have classes today and then I'm off (darn if I had known that before!) I can finally relax a little more when it comes to this semester. However, there's still a massive amount of work for me to be done and a lot to be considered regarding my future. When life gives you lemons....you know what I mean.

But for today...and heck for the rest of this week, month, year, and why not life...I'm leaving you with the following video. This totally made my Monday Morning. It made up for a crappy weekend, and it made me smile and feel better.

Here you go...have fun!!

Linking up with the fabulous Leeann over at Join The Gossip. I cannot miss her weekly linkup Monday Morning Gossip - it's too much fun! And my gossip of today is literally....listen to this kid, high five a stranger, and say please and thank you more often!!!

Happy Monday.

Pre-Thanksgiving Fun

{via}

I don't know about you but I love holidays when everyone gets together and eats.
Maybe it's just me who never experienced the feel of living and being part of a big family.
Maybe it's just me wanting to be part of a big family.
It's what it is.
I love the holidays.
Even the messy and loud moments.

This year it's a little different.
Traditions are thrown off (and that's fine too) and new moments are being created.
Who knows what next year will bring.
So, now, I'm trying to find some pre-Thanksgiving fun that will get me into the spirit.
Ever since I started going gluten free I never realized that heck, the holidays will be a horrible thing.
My beloved stuffing won't be that beloved anymore.
Or maybe it will.

So, now, I'm going crazy.
Gluten free stuffing, gluten free flour, gluten free this and gluten free that.
Doesn't sound that difficult...but it's also not that easy.
AND...it's going to be pricier.
I'm in hell. Sorry.

So yeah, that's my fun.
At least I finished all my midterms and all papers.
I only have to write two papers for finals, and survive three final exams in December.
I think I can do this. I am not giving up.
I just can't and won't.

My pre-Thanksgiving fun will just be a piece of cake...
...but first...let me have a gluten free beer and enjoy it before I go nuts over GF recipes.

Are you looking forward to Thanksgiving?
Are you even celebrating?
Black Friday Craziness?

I am and I will have a fantastic time.

xoxo

November 16, 2013

Hello

So well...this is me.
Ready to eat some pink cotton candy at Disneyland.
This picture was taken a while ago...almost a month ago.
My bestie, Sierra, took it right before I devoured that whole thing.

Today I feel like I need another cotton candy.
I need energy.
I need positivity.
I have two exams and one proposal next week and I really don't know where my energy went.
Any suggestions on what to do?

So yes, this is my weekend; dreaming of cotton candy and fighting with books.

What are you up to this weekend?
I'm slowly catching up from time to time...it just takes a while.

Miss you all.

xoxo

Happy Week

{via}

It is a happy week.
I received a passing grade on my written English midterm and that is absolutely all I wanted.
I was sweating so much writing it - driving everyone nuts.
It is over.
Now it's research time...fashion related. OMG.
Though now I just need to rest...
....and speaking of rest. I'll update soon on my quick roadtrip to Sonoma this past weekend.

Just saying, I might be taking a break in this blog world this month but wait until my hell semester of English drama is over...then I'm all back and happy to catch up.
Not that I never catch up...I always try to keep up :)

xoxo

There is a way...I know it!

 My lovelies,

You know that when we say life can change in a second?
That actually happened to me this weekend.
I could not believe it.
Unfortunately, it's not a positive thing.
I am healthy as a little prickly pie (don't know why I chose this reference), so don't worry.

However, after hours of crying and feeling betrayed, pissed, left alone, and just miserable....
....I realized that I am surrounded by happy people, and these happy people are my family and my friends.
I learned that there is always a way.
There has always been a way before for others, so why not me?

My weekend kind of sucked to say the least.
Monday was not pleasant either.
Today, it felt better because I learned more.

BUT, my initial plans to finish my schooling kind of vanished.
Yes, believe it or not.
I am SO close to finishing, SO close to reaching my goal my wish my everything and BAM, shit happens.
I won't get into details because if I do that would not be right.
All I can say is that I have to put it aside.
If you want to know more, ask me. I might email you back with details.

I wanted to vent so badly on here but then decided to let it go.
Sometimes it's not worth it.
Sometimes it's just not right to do this.
It is no one's fault, it is just what it is.

What I learned over the past few years is that whatever we go through, whatever we learn is part of life. It is our purpose to suffer, to go through bad moments in life, and to enjoy the happy times too. Whatever comes along is just part of it and we have to make the best of it.

I am trying my very best to finish this semester with awesome grades.
Write for my incredibly hard professor so that at least I pass with a B
because I doubt she will give me an A.
Find happiness in the next weeks to come - hello Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I will try to call my mom more often, or skype more often because I miss her.
I will try to enjoy the little things, like weekend trips up north with my favorite person.
I will try to enjoy the dogs licking my face and even my stomach making annoying sounds because I might have eaten something that had gluten in it - like just right now. Darn, it's a loud noise.

I will try to make the best of my crappy situation.
I am healthy, and at the moment happy.
All I need to figure out is how to keep the healthy and happy together.
Then I'm sane and can enjoy life even more.

Wish me luck.
Until then,
I might vent from time to time.
Or just plainly post some ridiculous stuff....ya know me and my blog.
I named it Crazy Little World Of Mine for a specific reason.

xoxo

Hello November!

{via}

Happy November everyone.
I am beyond shocked and stoked.
What a combo, I know.
Today marks the official day I can and will drink holiday drinks at Starbucks, and that
I can and will enjoy a glass of Eggnog from time to time. I mean, come on...who wouldn't like that?
Also, in about seven weeks my horror semester will be officially over.
I don't know about you, but I used to get melancholic when a semester ended but this time around...
...holy vow I'm ready for this devilish thing to end. I'm so over it.

In other news...Happy Friday!!!
Hope you have amazing plans for this weekend.
I will be sleeping in, working on a paper, doing laundry, and finally, after maybe 3 months...shopping!
Wish me luck.

I need boots, that's all I know.
And a cute fall/winter outfit...just so I can feel girlie again.
Anything I should look for or try?

Let me know.

Purple Rose of Cairo

I watched this film in class and fell in love.
I'm not a huge Woody Allen fan, yes, I admit that much but this film was FUN.
Taking my third film class is an amazing experience right now. I can't put it in words. It's insightful, fun, and not at all (so far) as dramatic as I thought it would be. Plus, who doesn't like to sit in class and watch a full movie?! Really.

So, if you haven't seen this...I'd recommend it just for the heck of it.
It's a comedy set in the 1930s...and well, it's a film about films!

Off I go to a very long day at school....wish it was work.

Catch ya soon again.

Monday Morning Gossip - Halloween Edition

I'm halfway done with my semester and it's been a horrible horrible journey. However, each day I try to enjoy life and look at the little things and smile. :)
This week obviously is making me smile because yes, it is the week of Halloween!!! I just love it. This year we didn't really decorate as much as we did last year and I am not going to dress up either. It is just not that kind of year. However, Wednesday at Zumba I am going to be dressed up just a little and it will be FUN.

So yes my lovelies, my gossip of this week is I am happy that Halloween finally arrived. This means spooky music, scary movies (YES!!), creepy masks and stories...and lots of black and orange and well yes, pumpkins!

{all pictures via}

Are you excited about Halloween?
Or not at all?

Linking up with the fabulous Leeann for her weekly Monday Morning Gossip.
Go on over and say hi.

Oldie but Goodie

This is my jam for today...or this week.
It gets me going, it makes me sing along, it makes me endure waiting, and it definitely makes me think. Leaving the house early each morning has this refreshing tone to it. It's fog or early morning haze is just more than terrific. It not only clear my senses (literally) it's a great way to start the day off. I'm loving it.

And even though Kris' song isn't that old. It's still one of my favorites.

What song inspires you this week?!
Anything I must listen to? I hope!

Still Alive - But the Break is Needed

So my lovelies,

If you are wondering where I have been then you are wondering right. I have been absent. Last night I realized that I was absent for a whole week. I could not think of anything else than homework, sleep, and enjoying life and its endless obstacles. I'm doing fine, just having a lot on my mind right now.

Also, this semester is halfway over. I'm super excited. I'm also more stressed. I have an additional class going and it's insane. Though, that the life I chose. My one professor hates me (well, maybe not, but she intimidates me so I can't fully function or write to fulfill her standards)...so the next 8 to 9 weeks will be dreadful. I can do it though. We all know that.

I am still alive is what I wanted to tell you all.
I'm still around and I'm trying to catch up soon.
Miss you all. Miss writing too.
However, as of right now I don't really know if I can keep up with everything that is going on including this crazy little blog of mine. It will be very difficult until December...however, I know I can manage it all. Fingers crossed.

I think...If not, I know where I can reach out for help or guest bloggers or a drink. ;)

Hope you are having a fabulous Monday.
Mine became terrific once I realized I did not blow my midterm and got a full A score on the exam I dreaded so much. I have amazed myself. :)

xoxo

P.s. I'm linking up with Leeann and her weekly Monday Morning Gossip. My gossip today is a quick hello and a quick "I"m still alive" post.

The Happiest Place On Earth

I had a stressful week.
It was so stressful that I literally fell asleep yesterday in my friend's car between classes.
This really never happened before. My body needed a rest.
Today, I'm studying, reading and getting ready for a fun weekend with my bestie! Not to mention a fun and needed trip to Disneyland!!!

What are your plans for this weekend?!

Anything exciting planned?!

Music - I'm still gleed

No matter what happens life always continues - with or without people we love and care about.
This episode will be heartbreaking but good. I can feel it.
Tomorrow night it is. I will be there.

In other news...school's making me neglect things I love - again. It's all for a good cause though. It'll pay off soon. Also, my bestie is coming to town and we will have a fun time this weekend...cannot wait! Girls weekends are always fun.

Happy Wednesday everyone.
Hope it's a great one.

P.s. It finally cooled down in southern California. YES.

Friday's Fancies - Color Crush

Color Crush

I love burgundy. Red in general.
Fall is just that kind of season for me that makes me want to wear warm colors (I'm sure I'm not the only one).
I haven't had a fall shopping day yet but that may change soon. I need a few outfits for events and those dresses may just come in handy.
Plus as a college student I could care less how I look in class as long as I understand the professor (or the topic) and as long as I remember it all and learn...so jeans, flats, and a fun sweater on top is all I need.
Fall Shopping will be FUN.

What are your colors this season?
Same as last year's?
Or new and different?

Linking up with Long Distance Loving again.

Have a fabulous weekend.
I will be out of town.
Sharing my country traveling shenanigans over at Instagram mostly. ;)

October 2, 2013

Venice

This weekend I went to Venice Beach. My friend M and I felt like we needed to be tourists again and go to Venice. It had been years for the both of us so it was fun to walk around and see all the crazies. In a good way though. I like Venice. It's rawness is enriching so to speak. Plus, getting away from the damn bubble we live in is always a must. :)

I am an art lover...not sure what to think of this...but hey, it's colorful and it fit perfectly with Venice.

An obligatory beach picture was needed...including palm trees of course. Blog failure on my side basically occurred because I forgot to be in the picture. But we were smart enough to take a selfie of us... :)

We are aware of the fact that we were matching...our sunburns later on were matching too. :( HAHAHA.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

xoxo
