I spent money yesterday. A lot. And today, I just took my credit card and stored it away so I won't be using it anymore. At least until Thanksgiving. Yes, you read right. I don't want to use it anymore. I have cash and once that cash is gone I just wait until it is December. Maybe. Who knows. We really shall see if I can do this. I am just so very sad I spent so much yesterday...but I did good. Most of what I bought are Christmas gifts, so that's okay. Add two winter jackets and gloves for me, and you get the picture. I had to. I am planning a trip to Illinois this December and it won't be sunny and 75 degrees. Nope. It'll be a bit chilly for my taste and I have no other choice but to wear some proper winter gear.
Any suggestions in general?

I totally lost my winter touch...and since I didn't bring any real winter clothes over I have to buy some. Most importantly are the shoes/boots or so...I am lost and have no idea on where to look and where to find good, solid, affordable footwear. HELP!!!
But in the meantime...I am drooling over some of the following items.
One of my coats pretty much looks like the one below...just in a different color.

I can dream about all these, right?
But in all seriousness...I need a good pair of boots, and another good pair of shoes.
Help, help, help...I don't have any. Not that I walk barefoot but almost.
Your suggestions are really appreciated.
And as formal as this may sound, I really truly mean it.

And since today is Friday, I decided to participate in Kori's weekly series...
Join the fun, and get inspired!!!

Eh, but a little retail therapy is always nice :)
My turkish class was postponed because I'm the only one signed up...haha! So they are waiting one more week to see if anyone else is going to join, or they might just give me private lessons.
It happens. Though to go to Illinois you'll definitely need the warm, for sure!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)
I love the coloured cardigan!
But yes I totally get what you mean...I seriously have the worst feeling after spending a lot of money.
Those inspiration shots are brilliant. I don't know where to get good winter shoes. If your looking cheap, maybe try Forever 21 or Target?
I tend to spend more on quality winter clothing. I'm from Fiji so the winters we spend in Canberra and Dunedin are really difficult for me! These are such a great collection! I think it's money well spent :) Happy weekend!
Found you through the blog hop at Kori's.
I found some boots for a reasonable price at DSW. I have no idea how they will hold up since I just bought them about a month ago.
Good luck in your search!
oh wow, i LOVE that green jacket. where on earth is it from!?!?
hope you're well!!! :) i've been a bad commenter - but not a bad reader, i promise!
I love all of that! You should post the stuff you bought! I'd say the best boots that keep me warm in dry weather is UGGs! They are so warm and comfy! I spent many a winters in chicago with my family and girl... IT.IS.COLD!
oooo love these looks (: Old Navy is pretty great for nice but affordable sweaters! I'm actually going to write a post about it... tomorrow haha I'd do it tonight but I'm lazy/tired ;) I went today and found the sweater of my DREAMS. for real. and they always have good sales.
I was a Cali girl uprooted to Utah for a bit so I know how hard the cold can hit ya (: I like forever 21 for jackets- I have one that is SO warm and it was pretty affordable and even their cheaper ones do the trick!
Otherwise I always look out for sales! Thanksgiving midnight madness?? haha otherwise there's always a ton of deals going on during the Holiday season. Nordy's has their half-yearly sale right now! and Macy's is usually good. I look for deals with boots too! My go-to boots was originally $200 at Cathy Jean but I saw them for $50. Just keep looking around and you'll find stuff!!
Love the idea of just hiding away your credit card for a little while!
And that is why I cut up my credit card, lol.
I am obsessed with long sweaters! These are all perfect winter items:)
I love the green jacket! SO perfect for the holidays. Good luck on your spending freeze! It'll pay off.
Ok, LOVE that top jacket! So so cute!
I know how it feels with cards at year end! I know this one sounds crazy but Crocs has really good boots for winter. They really keep your feet warm and they work great in snow. I got a pair of the brown boots and didn't think they'd work but they do! They have other colors and if you need a practical pair that keeps you warm AND dry it might work for winter visits. I came from Fashion Friday I wrote a post on fashion boots-didn't include the Crocs though.
I think I spied Free People...if sooo nice job, he he! Yep, better get a nice thick coat for IL and cute shoes - I know you want a pair!
