Too bad I know too many people that don't.
I wish I could just open up a free class for everyone that's interested and also that isn't and make them learn the benefits of recycling. And, to make them learn and see that it can be in fact a lot of fun too.

And you can bet a lot of money, on second thought maybe don't, that I usually throw the trash out and then put my tiny arms into the trash bag full of gross stuff so I can put all the plastic bottles, shampoo bottles, and what not plastic-y out and throw it down the appropriate recycle chute. Also, separating trash that way makes the real trash bin smaller and not as bulky. Throwing out that trash bag sometimes twice a day is one waste of plastic and money. I feel bad every time. However, I gave up on teaching at the house. I simply can't do it anymore. If you don't care about the planet, so be it, curse it if you will. I do. That's also why I keep the fan on and not the AC in the house. I certainly don't want to pay more for utilities, thank you very much. And hello? Does it really have to be 70 degrees inside when it's 90 outside?! NO!! We may wish but it's unhealthy, too cold, and too expensive.
My recycle and green-vent is over! ;)
Hope you're thinking about recycling, reusing, and cutting down on air-conditioning, water, and plastic drastically these days. One thing at a time, but let me tell you it's worth it. Get into a routine and do it. It won't kill you.

It definitely is a routine. I've been recycling since I was a kid. My parents and Grandma taught me about it. Then I taught my students about it and now, I'm teaching my daughter about it.
It takes such little effort to make a big difference, you know?
Kudos to you for helping save the earth!
I totally recycle at my house!! :-) It feels good to not put all of that paper/plastic and glass into the trash!

Thank you for the PSA reminder :)
Have a lovely day!
i do way more now that i live in switz!
I totally agree with you! My apartment complex doesn't have recycling, so I've started collecting it and taking it to the bins at the elementary school down the road. We turned off our AC. Mostly because it would go off even though it was set at almost 80 and it would make it too stinking cold. Is it pretty easy to recycle in Cali? My sister lived in Oregon, where it's everywhere and she just moved to utah and is appalled at the lack of recycling.

Here in Texas, recycling is mainly in Austin, Texas. That sounds bad, but that's just how it is. Granted you have the trash can for the brush and grass, but everything else is up to you.
I think recycling fits into where you live actually. Up north in California, more people recycled than where I lived in So. Cal.
In England recycling was the usual and I actually got into a routine of doing so there. Personally, I like living greener. Not to the point where I don't use toilet paper, and stop eating the foods I love, BUT planting tree's, respecting nature, taking the time to separate the bins, and doing your part to help preserve the environment I feel is essential.
Love your post!!! Stephi xxxx
I've been recycling since I was a kid, it would feel weird if I didn't!
I <3 recycling too! My city has banned plastic bags at markets and stores so that's a good way to help the environment!!
PS. I'd love it if you could visit my blog and follow me if you like it!! :)

wait. what's recycling? ;)
Oh, absolutely. This obsession with air conditioning is ridiculous.
And I just don't get what's so hard about setting aside glass and plastic bottles and old paper! I have a minuscule kitchen and I manage to do it and keep it out of sight, so there's no excuse ;-)
I totally recycle! Infact as you know it's mandatory here! I always make sure to divide everything like I'm suppose to and always make sure that it never just gets thrown out!
