Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my birthday. I don't feel my age at all even though friends remind me that my clock is ticking. I don't know if I have to be happy or sad about this. Really. Either way, today is my day and I will make it my very best day. Last year I moved on my birthday and it felt awful. Luckily, we celebrated beforehand as part of a graduation/moving/birthday celebration.

I believe in celebrating life and birthdays are part of that celebration.

So today, I am going out and I am celebrating. I may even sneak in a cupcake or just a slice of pie even though I am on a no-sugar month food challenge. I do not care. It is okay to slip once, and when it is one's birthday it should be mandatory to cheat for once. Today is my day and I will make it a wonderful one. Mom would have loved seeing me go out, enjoy some sweets, walk around and love life. I wish she's be walking next to me and in a way she is. I know she is.

Happy Birthday to me, and thank you mom for teaching me to love life and believing in me. I miss you. I'll be drinking a glass in your honor, because well, my birthday in a way is always a day to celebrate you.

Happy Birthday to me! :)

Today is my birthday.
I am a total June Baby and I am loving it.
My birthday has always felt so special to me.
I felt the most beautiful and most confident on my very special day.
This year, it is a little different.
I am moving today, and moving on my birthday was not really on the menu yet I am doing this.
Also, since it is Monday I realized that there is no point for me to wait until tomorrow to move.
Everyone's working or studying today, so while I am off I better get moving.

While you are reading this I am traveling/moving away from Southern California.
Once I enter my destination I will sit down and celebrate...with some bubbly and real food.
Until then, road food will be fine...some gluten free chips, veggies, fruits and lots and lots of water.

That's really not how I wanted to spend my actual birthday but it will be a fun experience.

Las Vegas

It has been 438 years that I went to Las Vegas. I always grew envious (yes I admit that) when I read blog posts of trips to the city of lost wages. I don't live that far away so it may be a surprise to some of you why it took me so long to go back. Let me tell you, it is also a surprise to me. Maybe my unconscious told me to stay away and save the money. Who knows. I am not one to gamble so that is not an issue for me. I just never had the opportunity again to go. Yet, this year it is finally happen. To be exact. Next month it is finally happening. I am beyond happy and excited. 

It's going to be a fun trip for three reasons. One, we will celebrate a birthday (not mine). Two, I will finally go to a concert I had been dreaming about for decades (yes, that long), and three, it's Vegas - away from home, finally out of Orange County and finally doing something else. You gotta leave home from time to time even when it only means for a few days. I'm so stinking excited it's not even funny.

Hotel is booked. Concert is booked. We are excited.

Seriously, it took me over a decade to go back. Lots will have changed. Lots is probably still the same.

If you have any suggestions on where to go for restaurants or shops...let me know. Any suggestions are highly recommended.  

I know one thing, I will stand outside again watching Bellagio's water show. I know people who hate it but I simply love it. That will be a MUST for me no matter what.

Happy Birthday to me!!

Happy Birthday to me. 

It's my Birthday Weekend, and since I am jet lagged I decided to actually celebrate last weekend...lucky us it was Memorial Weekend in the US. ;) I will, however, still celebrate with close family. All I want is to sit down and eat food I haven't eaten in a very long time. This would be the best Birthday present ever, right?

What I mostly want is to see everyone I miss at this moment.
Too bad they are all in California.

Though I know they all care and miss me. Hopefully ;)

 

Happy Birthday Selma!

I realize that Selma already posted a Happy Birthday post on her Birthday, but what kind of friend would I (aka Sierra), be if I didn't take her blog captive, wishing her a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY?!?!

So without further adieu, I'd like to show some nice birthday photos that remind me of Selma because I'm certainly thankful that she was born on this day. I don't know what I would do without her!! 

I'm so thankful for you girl - you are amazing in every single way and I hope you have a GREAT birthday in Switzerland (even though I miss you lots and wish I could fly over there this instant).
