Winter Accessories that never get old

It has been chillier here in Northern California. Yes, it's not always sunny and 75 degrees all year round. We have had snow, frost, and just about all that stuff you don't think California may get. This is NorCal for ya. With colder temps it is never too late to bundle up with new items. I love to walk, and without proper wear I am cold. Extremely cold. I am cold all year round. Really. So, with this year just barely a few days old it is time to prep my closet with some cute winter accessories and extra layers.

Winter Accessories

I am clearly obsessed with stripes. I can't help it. Most of my socks are striped and a few shirts too. I just feel this adds a little extra to my regular, basic color-only outfits. Plus, since I love pink I have to add pink to most of my outfits. It makes me smile, happy, and just feel sophisticated. So, this scarf, the headband/turban, and the gloves are a must for me. They are cute, warm, and affordable. The scarf may be a bit pricey for some of you but I learned to be a firm believer in a pricier item when the quality works as well, so I can keep an item for up to ten years {or forever}.

Do you have all your winter items ready, renewed, and all?!
I once believed that whatever I had was good enough but turns out a new pair of gloves or a new top that can be easily used a layer makes me happy. The feeling you get when you first use your new socks, or those comfy legwarmers. Priceless.

Back to School and Reality!

back to school

My school years are over. At least for the time being. Hoping to go back at some point. Either way, my man went back to school today and that made me all excited. I am more excited about this than he is. Also, it is fall, it is a new season, and it is definitely time to make some changes. Among most changes it will be my wardrobe. What I put together above is probably what I would like to wear in the next couple of weeks. All I have to find are red flats, and a cute fall-colored blouse, and skirt, and hope for cooler weather. I don't own the KS watch and won't go out and buy it, but the inspiration is there. I can then combine it all with jeans, dress pants, and even pull my favorite green pants out. The possibilities are endless.

I have always loved fashion, and the feeling I got when I wore something new or tried a new look. I am excited to see how I feel when I come up with new items in my closet. It will be fall cleaning, not spring cleaning! :) It will feel perfect. It will be liberating and just fun to get rid of items I haven't touch in a year or even two. They will most probably be donated.

So excited about this.
Red flat shopping here I come!

Friday's Fancies - Layered with a touch of color

Hey lovelies,

It has cooled down over here in sunny California. It's okay though. It's what I call sweater weather. Finally! So it's quite perfect that this week's theme over at Long Distance Loving is Lovely Layers!

Since I love layers I just have to say that I simply love everything I can combine that makes sense to me. If it feels comfy and perfect it's a bonus. So, my outfit for this week is simple. A thick and warm cardigan in a bright color, a tank-shirt that goes with everything, a shirt I had my eyes on for so long, and a pair of skinnies with gorgeous flats that somewhat match the outfit. what do you think?
I was hesitant on how that red cardigan works with the top but I have to say I love it. It's that little extra touch that's needed...and really not everything has to match these days.

Colored and Layered

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!!!

Happy Tuesday!

Thank you all for your sweet comments!
You have no idea how much they all mean to me.

I'm trying to stay more positive today. Believe me, I'm trying.

I'm going out today.
Can't wait to get out of here. I just need that.
I discovered Polyvore again. Been a while.
I'm not good at it, but it lets me explore fun stuff...and I found fun stuff. :)

You all know how much I love big cities...I miss big city life, and I definitely miss one or two or three big cities but this is what I came up with for today. It's not the best combo and it's certainly not the best Polyvore picture but hey!! It's all about fun and happiness today, so I like it. :)

I need some fancy girl time again.
Maybe I'll find cute things today...going to meet my godmother.
Not super fancy and not girlie but she sure as heck knows how to dress and shop. :)

Happy Tuesday!

♥ Selma ♥

Spring Outfit?! Yes.

The sun's out, and my trip's approaching like nothing ever before.
I am ready. I think. If not, I will be so I can have fun exploring the city again, and so many other places. :) Spring's about to welcome me with open arms...I hope.

It's still freezing cold outside, but at least the sun's out and makes us feel refreshed and happier and all that.
So, I decided to go over to Polyvore and play a little...and that's what I came up with. Didn't have much time so excuse my quick search for the perfect outift...I will be looking for cute things like the one below soon... :D

Happy Wednesday.

Dear Winter....

...is it maybe possible for you to leave soon?! Not that you were bad or anything. I would really appreciate it if you could just leave. We had enough of you and your bitter cold winds, and snowflakes. People lost their lives, and loved ones because of you, too. Not that this is really any of your fault but you were one factor that caused this in the first place. So, please, winter...would it be possible for you to pack your things and just go?! Thank you very much.
the spring and summer lover(s)

So, I've been craving warm weather. I wouldn't mind just about ten degrees more outside...and just more sun. I forgot what she looks like. Horrible. :(  I can't wait for spring to begin. As you probably know, I could live in spring/summer temps all year round. My flip flops, sandals, and flats are my best friends. Ok, too much I know, but I love them and could wear them all year long. I like the way they make me feel...so mature with a real girlie touch ♥ . I just want to get rid of my winter jacket. I can't stand it anymore. We fight all the time and it's no fun. I'd rather walk around like this...

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!!
Hope you're having great plans to spend it.

I'll be working my butt off...as usual! :)

Search. Find. Buy!

Going shopping today!
Looking for something like that...or similar...it feels so wonderful to know that this fall season is going to be just perfect! Almost like eight years ago when I made a choice that turned some things around for me. I feel as if this fall is going to do the same again!

Hello Again

Today, school started again. Not for me, but for all the kids in town. Streets and the old town feel less crowded again. Nice!!!!

Apart from that, I discovered that I'm just not intelligent. You might want to slap me right now and so be it my readers, but I feel I'm just stupid. Ok, that word is harsh. Not intelligent enough sounds better. Yes, I know. How can I say this to myself? I wonder, too. I'm embarrassed. Ashamed, too. I know what's wrong...do you?! Yes, yes, the so-called summer misery of mine came back. Actually it never really left but waited for the right moment to appear again and voila, here it is. It's a sad feeling knowing that this misery is back and that it makes me feel they way it does. I know I'm not stupid, and that I am a bright young person full of life and her future waiting to be finally discovered and filled with experiences. I know all that. It just seems as if I have this enormously heavy stone on my feet and on my hands and even on my brain (yes, yes) that doesn't allow me to go online and do something else (more important) than just blogging, polyvoring, facebooking, yahooing, etc etc etc. I just had a whole week off. I did a lot but still it feels as if I failed that week. I wanted to look for an appropriate school for my tiny self, so I can finally go back and study again (which I loved, and yes, which I sometimes miss...but only really sometimes). Plus, if I don't do it now I won't ever. And that, my lovelies, I will regret for the rest of my life. There is already so much that I regret and can't change anymore I don't want this to be another of those "bad choices". Either way, if the studying doesn't change anything or doesn't give me opportunities I've been missing for so long then I can always return home, can't I?! Yes!
So, knowing that something is holding me back for unknown reasons is pissing me off. My life is boring enough at this very moment and I find no inspiration lately. I have to look for it in things that are cute and also inspirational but not truly inspiration for myself. Do you know what I mean?! If not, don't worry. Either way, life has to continue, I have to work on that and I will. The school is going to be found - soon. Just has to! Cross your fingers for me...luck is needed! ;)

In order to get rid of this bad feeling I ended up on polyvore again. Yes, I know...bad...with that I won't find a school. Here's what I found. My inspiration for today...sort of.

Have a fabulous day!

Summer Sunday

Ok, I got a little distracted yesterday. I couldn't stop surfing the web. While I was browsing the internet and looking for a potential school, taking breaks on facebook by playing on farm town and some silly restaurant application, I took another break on www.polyvore.com. This was really bad. I got distracted - a lot. Loved it though. I even found THE perfect dress for my friend's wedding. Can you believe it?! I told you I would, but I also knew I'd find it in a store that doesn't exist over here and this is the worst. Needless to say I can't stop looking at that perfect dress (though I will find one, over here, and I know I will soon), and play around being creative.

Today, Monday...work was, well still is, boring. So, I thought I'd post the above picture letting myself get distracted again. It's not the dress I had in mind for the wedding but it's also nice. It is also a very good inspirational picture...I feel like wearing all that and walking through cherry blossoms, letting the sun find my face and paint it golden...but I digress. Work has been so boring, the only excitement was the police arriving and taking someone in. Yes, correct. You read right. She seemed weird from the beginning on, talked about ridiculous things that didn't make any sense to any of us and came up with stories that weren't close to any truth whatsoever. I felt sorry for her. So did our boss and we had to call the police. We didn't know where she lived or where she actually came from or should go back to so this was the only solution at the moment. Exciting, huh?! Scary, too, because we weren't sure how she'd react to the police but she seemed okay with it. So yes, boring day, and I am stuck at work...and yes, I know I shouldn't be online blogging but it's all good. My job for today is done I just have to wait till my shift is over and that is in another two hours...time goes by so slowly....way too slowly.

Hope your Monday was better than mine.
