Summer Nights

Happy early weekend everyone.
It has been hot here. I really miss the ocean, and I really miss those fancy restaurants along the pier that make every Friday night a special date night. I am far away from my beloved ocean even though San Francisco is so close. I will be back in my home in a few weeks yet until then I am dreaming of summer nights along the pacific where I hear and smell the the waves crashing. SoCal will have me back early August! In order to celebrate this, and in order to celebrate my friend's Bridal Shower this Sunday (I sadly cannot make it though) I created this outfit and am linking up to Friday Fancies
Have fun, and have a brilliant weekend!!!

Friday Fancies - April

Hi lovelies,

Even though this month's theme on Long Distance Loving is April Showers I don't fully believe in it anymore. Southern California doesn't fully experience that kind of "season"... NorCal maybe...and Europe definitely. However, to go along with the theme I thought I'd add a twist and call it April Heatwave. I know, not really creative. We had temperatures in the 90's and even though it's supposedly cooling down a little it still feels like summer. I added an umbrella to the set though, just in case there's going to be a sprinkle here and there.

April 2014

So, what do you think? Would you wear such an outfit? I would. Mine would be probably cheaper (I cannot afford such a gorgeous skirt at that price - sadly) but I would. I'd wear it for a fun Sunday Brunch with friends or family or with my favorite person. However, until I can afford such a skirt I am going with what I have in my closet; a few dresses, colorful pants, my new blue shorts I can pair up with anything and the many tops I have waiting to be used. Plus, my favorite color to wear is navy blue...it's got the elegance and the prettiness already in it. I cannot go wrong with that at all.

Happy Friday everyone.
Catching up soon again.
I have one test next week that just drives me bananas. Once done I'm all yours again. Oh well, that just came out wrong. You know what I mean. I hope. :)

Friday Fancies - March

It is past beyond mid-March and it is officially spring!
This month's theme on Long Distance Loving is green - the color we might or might not have worn on St. Patty's Day and the color that stands for grass. Sorta. Either way, green is fresh, alive, and just perfect to celebrate this month. I wish I had more green in my wardrobe. I have one pair of pants, and a sweater. I might have to change that soon.

For this month and this weekend's outfit post...here's my contribution to the color green.

Have a fabulous weekend, my lovelies! Stay tuned for my upcoming spring break trip via Instagram. :)

Friday Fancies - February Theme

Valentine's Day Date 2014

This month's theme on Long Distance Loving is all about Valentine's Day.
I never cared about Valentine's Day. Nothing has changed this year. I don't get this day. Yes, apparently it's a day lovers show their appreciation for one another because, well, they can't on any other day. Seriously. I don't like this day. Also, this day reminds me of my late cousin who sadly won't celebrate her 23rd birthday that day. So, no - Vday is not for me.

I have to admit I am going on a date this year...but that's about it. I will dress pretty much what I shared above because well, that's my style. I love pink, I love comfort...and black! :) Pink and Black go so well together, no?!

Happy weekend everyone!!!

Friday Fancies - New Year New Me

A New Year usually means a New Something. We set up goals, so-called New Year's Resolutions, and usually fail to follow through. As for me, years ago I started to not make any resolutions just because I know myself well enough and will not even bother forcing me to do something I will simply fail at anyways. However, there are a few things I am changing this year: My school/job, my wardrobe, my clutter/non-clutter, my cultural engagements (as in going more to museums, concerts, trips, etc), and my friendships. I will improve and I will feel better! I already know.

For this weekend, and for this entire month I am trying to clean my closet - this means taking out everything I have not worn in months if not years and give it to a shelter or to someone I know will appreciate a halfway new item (there is no shame in wearing used clothes my readers!). I already got rid of a whole junk of clothes about two months ago, three weeks ago and will probably add more to that list. As much as I love that one pair of pants, or that colorful top or T-shirt or what not...if I don't wear it on a regular basis or even remember I had it, then it is simply not worth keeping it. It takes up too much space for nothing. Plus, do I really want to wear a T-shirt I bought ten years ago? It no longer fits. My style changed, my body changed, and well, my attitude too.

So, here's to a New Me in style or at least wardrobe!!! Wish me luck.
I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving and her Friday Fancies. Her topic? New Year: New Me. So, here's a compilation of what items I will focus on this year or at least in the next three months - as in, get, keep, and wear/use for a long time - a fresh look will brighten my every day. I can already tell.

2014 Compilation

What do you think?
I need blazers, new pants, new tops, new flats and sandals, and a few dresses - all within budget, color, style and well girlieness (I am sure I just made this word up). I have enough scarves, daytime bags, stockings, and jeans and cardigans. Just not those essential items a girl needs and a statement necklace and a travel bag are needed.

Here's hoping I find some of these items this or next month. I don't want to look 18 anymore or 22. I don't want to look my age either because that is just sad...but at least I want to look put together, happy, and comfy.

Friday's Fancies - Color Crush

Color Crush

I love burgundy. Red in general.
Fall is just that kind of season for me that makes me want to wear warm colors (I'm sure I'm not the only one).
I haven't had a fall shopping day yet but that may change soon. I need a few outfits for events and those dresses may just come in handy.
Plus as a college student I could care less how I look in class as long as I understand the professor (or the topic) and as long as I remember it all and learn...so jeans, flats, and a fun sweater on top is all I need.
Fall Shopping will be FUN.

What are your colors this season?
Same as last year's?
Or new and different?

Linking up with Long Distance Loving again.

Have a fabulous weekend.
I will be out of town.
Sharing my country traveling shenanigans over at Instagram mostly. ;)

Back to School Outift 2013

Happy {early} Friday everyone.
I am so glad this week is over. Not only was it my first week back in school, back with my fun friends, and interesting professors, but it was also my first week to realize how much I missed having some sort of a purpose. I don't want to spend the rest of my life in school so that's not my purpose but I finally realized that my being in school is finally making sense. And just re-reading this I know my statement just right now did not make any sense at all. Oh well. It was a tough week. The weekend can begin.

So, without further ado. I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving and her weekly Friday Fancies. This week, of course, it's the back to school special. So, have fun with my outfit. It's simple, it's easy and it's what has been missing on campus...color!!! I see a lot of black, blue, and gray. I love these colors but it's still August so color is definitely needed. Plus, I simply say that when you add some color your mood changes...so having a stressful week or day ahead? Color up and have fun. ;)

Back to school 2013

Have a fantastic weekend.

Friday Fancies - Sandals!

Happy Friday everyone.
I've been wrestling with my allergies (what is wrong this season? Europe, you're not nice to me), my continuous and irritable gluten intolerance, and the fact that I have to pack my belongings again and fly back to California. Sigh. However, today is a good day. Not only will I go out and enjoy the warm weather in a dress (!!!), but I will also see a friend of mine and her newborn. Cannot wait.

Before I am going to enjoy this weekend, I'm linking up with long distance loving and her weekly Friday Fancies. This week's theme is all about sandals. It's summer, it's warm, and let's be honest we all love them. ;) I simply couldn't just show you one pair, I had to go with a few. Enjoy.

Friday's Fancies - Sunnies

Happy Friday everyone.
I needed a break from all the drama that's been going on in Turkey, so I decided to cheer myself up with Long Distance Loving's weekly linkup.

This week's theme is all about sunglasses. I love sunglasses. One more reason for me to join today. If you know me you'd know I am utterly obsessed with Kate Spade and her sunglasses. I cannot help it. They fit me and my awkwardly shaped face. I love them, especially when I get them at a discounted price thanks to an amazing friend working at a special sunglass store. I love it. So, needless to say, guess what pair I chose for today's post?!

Kate Spade Glasses Love

I have that same pair of sunglasses and cannot get enough of them. One of the best Christmas present so far. So glad the sun returned to Europe so I can actually wear them here as well. And really, lately I have been into pink pants. Someone please tell me that this is okay?!

Happy Friday, and happy weekend.

Will miss you all when I'm visiting one of the most beautiful cities in the world; even today with all the chaos that's been going on. Istanbul, here I come.

The Flat Shoe Friday!

The Flat Shoe Friday

This week's theme over at Long Distance Loving is all about SHOES. As much as love shoes I went with a simple theme here. Flats and sandals. Easy, huh? It's warmed up here in Southern California so I switch my footwear from funky colorful flats to simple sandals. I wanted to incorporate my style a little with today's theme. I think I managed this well. Plus, lately, I'm so into polka dots (well, all the time) or stripes (recent thing) I thought it would be nice to add this little obsession of mine, too. And hello? Noticed the blue theme? Not sure where that is coming from.

If only my sets were somewhat affordable for a poor student like me. Meh. Oh well. A girl can dream and save up. And I'm certainly saving up. :)

Hope your Friday is fabulous!
Happy Weekend everyone!

Hope you are having fun plans to look forward to.

Easter Weekend - Friday Fancies!

Easter is around the corner! I cannot believe it. Where did the time go? Spring break was last week and this week our campus was so empty I'm sure people just added a second week of vacation.

For Friday, I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving again. This week's theme is no other than somewhat Easter/Spring related. Easter Sunday this year also marks the 13th day of the Persian New Year celebration...and oh my, it will be busy. All this though means spring has fully and finally arrived. I hope for everyone. No more snow for the ones on the East Coast, or Europe, or anywhere else.

Let's celebrate some, with pretty items in pastels. Pastels make me feel so girlie. Don't you agree?

Easter Pastel

Have a fabulous Friday.
I'll be studying, working out, and possibly even window shopping. I have yet to find an Easter Outfit. :(

Friday's Fancies - St. Patrick's Day Edition

Happy Friday everyone!!!
In two days we celebrate St. Patrick's Day so it's appropriate for a little green theme here. No?
Besides, it's been a while that I linked up with Friday's Fancies and honestly...I missed it.

So, I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving today.

I went with a simple theme today just because it's hot, and we don't want to wear much on a hot day. :) Yes, be jealous...we've had 80-degree weather and it's been gorgeous. Woohooooooo!
What do you think? Is my outfit appropriate for a hot day in a bar? Hahaha!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Do you have any plans for this weekend?
Moi?

Today I'll be heading up north to see a friend I haven't seen since July. Yes, that's long.
And yeah, it's spring break....I'll be chilling and relaxing, drinking some green drinks (if they are gluten free) and studying. :( Midterm after a break is awful but I'll be doing fine!!!! :)

Happy Weekend.

Friday's Fancies - Layered with a touch of color

Hey lovelies,

It has cooled down over here in sunny California. It's okay though. It's what I call sweater weather. Finally! So it's quite perfect that this week's theme over at Long Distance Loving is Lovely Layers!

Since I love layers I just have to say that I simply love everything I can combine that makes sense to me. If it feels comfy and perfect it's a bonus. So, my outfit for this week is simple. A thick and warm cardigan in a bright color, a tank-shirt that goes with everything, a shirt I had my eyes on for so long, and a pair of skinnies with gorgeous flats that somewhat match the outfit. what do you think?
I was hesitant on how that red cardigan works with the top but I have to say I love it. It's that little extra touch that's needed...and really not everything has to match these days.

Colored and Layered

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!!!

Emerald City

Good morning!

Happy Friday. I have been busy lately but in a very good way. When you travel you only have so much time, and literally, time runs faster than normally. So, blogging was easier and still more difficult for me. With a new year new fashion styles come along as well...and since I had a little time I really enjoyed this week's fashion theme for Friday's Fancies over at Alison's blog.

I had fun creating my outfits this week. Kind of makes me wanna go out and purchase anything green-ish, or emerald (which isn't easy to find around here at the moment since people prefer black, black, and yes, black for winter). I just look forward to some fun and colorful weeks ahead...black is awesome, but not everything. So, what do you think?

Hint of Emerald

My three weeks back home are coming to an end and so it's naturally to see friends and family. However, I cannot see all and I cannot split myself. Besides, I also need some time to myself while I pack and organize a few things. I also believe in the fact that if people want to see me they let me know and make it happen, even for an hour. They know I'm here and they know how to reach me. If they happen to have time they hit me up. If not, I'm not gonna bother. Simple as that. Harsh but logical. I'm not gonna squeeze in four meetings in one day. No, thank you. Did that once and it was exhausting.

Today is going to be very phoneomenal. I'm gonna be eating Cheese Fondue, the real one; not the crappy one you get at Melting Pot. Sorry, if you are a Melting Pot lover. And yeah, I meant it the way it came across. So, my lunch is going to be just perfect. Cheese Fondue...here I come. All homemade by the way. And my friends' kids will probably spill a few things today but I won't bother; that's the most fun. ;)

Here's also an interesting link I found explaining Fondue to y'all who aren't that familiar with what I'm about to eat. So true, and it already made me hungry! :D

Have a fun day!!!

Friday's Fancies - New Year, New Me!

Hope you all enjoyed this first week of 2013! Did anyone make any resolutions?

I didn't. I usually try to make a list and then end up not following through any of my "wishes" and "hopes", so I don't even bother coming up with resolutions...as long as I remain healthy, somewhat happy, smiling and surviving I will be doing fine. Of course, there's always something I want to have accomplished by the time the year ends. I'd be lying not only to you but definitely also to me if I said I wouldn't be thinking of certain things. And without writing them down I will know when they happen and feel awesome and accomplished. And only I will know whether or not I have accomplished any of them. So, wish me luck. ;-)

Today, Friday's Fancies over at Long Distance Loving has a fun theme...New Year -- New You!!
So, I decided to show you what I'm hoping to wear more often than just once...not that I own any items of what I am posting...but a girl can dream, right? And who knows, if I ever end up wearing something like that I might even share it with you all, and check it off my imaginary list.

New Year, New Me!

Happy Friday!!!
Any plans for this weekend?
Moi?
Relaxing!

Friday's Fancies - New Year's Eve Outfit

Happy Friday everyone.

The end of this year is near. I am still in shock. Wasn't it just July 4th? Or heck, my birthday or even just Easter? WOW.  The older we get the faster time flies is what my grandma used to say. Grandma, if you are reading this somewhere up there with a fancy iPad or something or I'm sure you are given superpowers, then wow, you were so right. Seriously.

And if you wonder what Christmas looked and looks like in my little hometown, check Lacey's Christmas around the World post out. I was having fun walking through my city with a major jet lag the other day and taking photos. I did well I think. ;)

For today I decided to join Long Distance Loving again with her weekly Friday's Fancies linkup. This week it's all about what we would wear on NYE. Hmmmm, if we only celebrated here. We do, we do. But not fancy. I know I'll be wearing jeans, a shirt and warm boots. Boring. ;) So, I had fun creating a simple but elegant ensemble that made me smile and hope for a fun and classy NYE of 2013...yes, I can think ahead. ;)

And...it's all pretty affordable.
What do you think?

Happy New Year!

Have a great Friday, a fantastic weekend, and well, an awesome NYE on Monday if I don't get to talk to you before that.

Friday Fancies - Autumn Lust List

Since I'm already drooling over certain items this week...I thought it would be fun to share my love for colors too. I love fall, and I love that warmer colors are more welcome this time of year whether or not the temperatures are cooler! This week's theme on Long Distance Loving is:

I'm clearly drooling over my two outfits this week. And I can happily announce now that I am a proud owner of green pants (also of blue pants) and some polka dotted tops. Target, Old Navy, H&M and Kaitlyn's have great and  affordable items this season and it never hurts to add some color to my rather boring outfit collection. I'm the natural and neutral girl who wears black too often...or gray for that matter. So, you hopefully understand my happy face right now just thinking of my colorful items!!

Happy Friday!

Fashion on a Friday!!!

Hello my lovely readers!
Happy Friday!

Today I'm linking up again with Long Distance Loving and her weekly Friday's Fancies Series. When I have time and when I feel somewhat inspired to come up with something that I would wear I am most definitely joining in. It's been difficult for me to do so in the last couple of weeks. You all know school started again and even though I am taking four classes I am balancing them quite beautifully. I still need to kick my butt from time to time and sit down and work...and NOT blog. :)  So hard, let me tell you.

Either way, today's theme is Back to School. How funny! :)

I chose an outfit I would probably wear myself, and would feel comfortable in. Granted, with 90 degrees outside none of us on campus feel like it's time to wear Toms let alone a cardigan. I usually spot dresses, super short shorts and whatever else must have been in a closet at one time. On Tuesdays I carry one gigantic sweater with me. There's this one class room that catapults you into the arctic. It's that cold. We have all been complaining (and it's only been the third week) but nothing changes. We are freezing in there and it's ugly. And yes, of course it's that one class I have to sit in for three full hours. Great.

So when it comes to going back to school "easy and comfortable" come to my mind. And a warm sweater. What do you think?!

Back to School Outfit

Are you linking up?!
Even if not, it's always fun to hop on over and look for additional outfit inspirations!

I am also linking up with Kori over at Blonde Episodes! Stop on by and see what fashion inspired post she's sharing with us.

Happy Friday and weekend.

Fingers crossed mine will be better than last! (I highly doubt it though!)

Happy Friday's Fancies!!

Happy Friday everyone!! (a little early this time)
I think I fought the jet lag, and I think I can finally enjoy being in California again. When you don't fully know where you are or what time it is or how you're feeling you can't fully enjoy things. Though I am back and happy. I think. I am just taking things slowly these days.

Today, it is Friday and I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving's theme gingham gorg!

Oh boy...let's just be honest here, it's not my favorite print. At all. Don't get me wrong because yes, I agree it can in fact look fabulous and be cute but it always reminds me of Germany and Switzerland and their table clothes in beer restaurants. I know, ridiculous. Either way, have a look at what I came up with...I may in fact change my mind! It's not that bad after all. ;-)

So what do you think?
Good? Bad?
I like the first combo most...though really prefer the flats and bag in the second one.

Have a fun day today...and yes, head on over and link up if you wish!

xoxo
