Be Kind To One Another

I'm in awe what this community did for one man. This may be an add by Samsung but its meaning is fabulous. Plus, I loved the fact that it was shot in Istanbul {my second hometown, where my mom grew up} and I can hear bits and pieces of Turkish. Fun.

If you don't know the story...well, a few people learned sign language to be able to communicate with one specific guy. As this guy walks around town with his sister he comes across people who out of nowhere "talk" to him; as if it is the most normal thing ever. He is part of that community, that town, so since he can't hear and therefore communicate with anyone {unlike us} he was positively shocked and felt blessed to see that there are people out there that want to be part of his {quiet} life.

Just watch it yourself...I just loved the idea.

As Ellen always says... be kind to one another! ;)

Home for the Holidays

With the holidays approaching faster than ever {or is it just me?} it is always fun to see neighborhoods decorating, commercials switching over to more festive ideas, and stores playing holiday music. I'd prefer it to be a mix of Christmas music and some regular radio music. As much as I love Christmas music I don't want to hear constant holiday cheer...it is just too much. However, a nice mix would be perfect.

I digress...one of the best parts this season? The Samsung commercial with Kirsten Bell and Dax Shepard. I may be an Apple girl most of the time {just not the computers} but this commercial is the cutest and most festive one. Love it. So in honor of December and this holiday season...I'm sharing this video with you. I'm sure you have seen it before, and if not, you are welcome.

The Carlton of 2014

Do you remember watching the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? Whether or not you watched the show there is one thing that stuck with all of us...The Carlton Dance! It is one of those dances that made you laugh, smile, question and maybe even cry at the same time. It's the funniest, weirdest and yet most memorable dance on TV ever. The show is long over, and all actors, especially Will Smith have moved on...but this week on Dancing With The Stars Alfonso danced The Carlton once again - and beautifully I have to say.

I had to share this. I mean, come on. I grew up with this show. It made my week better, it made me laugh, it made me mad but most importantly it stuck with me throughout the years. James Avery was our TV dad for six years {I was so sad when he passed almost a year ago}. Crazy how long ago the show ended. Glad we were rooting for Alfonso to finally dance his dance again. Glad he did.

I had to re-watch a few YouTube videos of the show to see the "real" Carlton again. So much fun. Shows like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air don't really exist today. There are a few that are similar but lack the real fun and the real human aspect at times. Don't get me wrong. There are awesome shows out there, even more so spectacular films touching our hearts and souls, but times have changed and so have jokes, issues, and acting. Anyways, have fun watching this video and maybe even looking for the original dance online somewhere. If you are like me, you will laugh at this and remember the good old teenage days with the family Banks.

The Happy Drug: Music!

Happy Friday!!!

You know, when you don't feel well you need something to cheer you up. Some people prefer to just simply keep to themselves, drink wine {or something else}, eat, read, go out and get distracted, listen to music or even work out. Whatever works for you when you feel down or sad, music and tv are my distractions. Sunday and Monday of this week weren't my happiest days...this stretched to Wednesday and even to today. I guess that is normal. You know what my man did? He created a radio station on his phone that literally plays music based on my taste of music. Guess what? Apparently, Maroon 5 rocks my world. They rocked my world when they first started over 11 years ago, and they rocked my world driving two hours over a pass to see his parents and back to our place.

Also, just knowing Adam is still as hot as ever {yum!!} made my sadness a little less dramatic. Plus, hello, they just announced the new tour dates. Hmmmm, yes please!

Making me smile and feel slightly better was needed. So, I am choosing to share this video with you. I am sure most of you have seen it, if not, watch it all. To me, it is a reminder that nobody and nothing is ever perfect but we can strive to work hard on ourselves and believe in a positive and perfect world; don't judge, don't hate, and just accept and tolerate.

Oh Hail No! Russian Hailstorm caught on camera!

Since moving to Sacramento I have learned to go with whatever comes along. I am still trying to get this entire area down, and am determined to make my remaining months here (however long that will be) entertaining, special, and worthwhile. The main thing my favorite person and I have to get used to is the weather. It has been HOT. Triple digit hot. All the time. Worst of all, at least for my lungs, is the wind that does not exist here. The air is horrible. Now, you would think, wait a minute. Doesn't this girl know that her beloved Los Angeles has worse air quality? Yes, maybe. Yet, trust me. My lungs know better. They feel this air is being different, and they are not happy!

Weather and air quality aside, I am so looking forward to going to the beach soon. I am literally counting down the days. I need my lungs to breathe better. Also, I came across the following video...and well, let's just say I am also glad we did not have this kind of hail coming down on us like crazy. All this happened in Russia over the weekend I believe. Pure insanity if you ask me. Just watch it, and wait a little until the camera turns to show the water and people literally running.

This was all over the news, and even a few people posted it on Facebook. Have you seen this? What would you do?

Try

Next time you put a ton of make-up on think about this...is that really you?

Don't get me wrong, I love make-up. I love to put it on and feel girlie. Yet, I also prefer the clear, clean, no-make up days. It is then totally me, and my skin can breathe. Plus, our other halves should appreciate us for who we are without the fake color on our skin. Besides, if he says he loves how you look when you don't even have mascara on and just wear moisturizer {not tinted though}, then you know he loves you for who you are and not for what you think you must look like to him. If he or anyone for that matter doesn't like you at all when you are naked so to speak, then well, sorry! Just saying.

Love this video and the message it sends. Colbie as well as other singers and actors have been speaking out about photo-shopped appearances in magazines and on TV. To me, this video is not solely about the misguided photos we see in magazines and think we need to strive for the same {fake} perfection. To me, this video is about accepting us for who we are and how we look. Accepting our flaws, our freckles, our scars, our weight, our crooked nose, and our short hair or lashes.

I have to say I always wear mascara and lip gloss unless I stay home. Just saying, I think a little makeup is fine - at least if he doesn't distort your natural look.

This video has been going around on Facebook, Twitter, and even on the News. If you haven't heard about it or even seen it...have a look and let me know what you think!!

Generation of Idiots

For the past few days the following video has been going around...you either saw but never watched it, or you watched and shared it with friends. Either way, I'm sharing it with you now.

Have a great day now. I think once I am done with my homework (working on it right after I press publish) I am stepping outside and breathing in some fresh, and quite crisp air.

Without my phone on me.
Just saying.

Waiting For Superman

I am obsessed with the following song.
I have always been a huge fan of Daughtry and this song just wowed me. Literally.

What made me love this song even more is the message behind it.
Have you watched this video before? Heard the song?
I mean, it's not about good old Superman. It could be, no doubt.
I believe it is about the Superman (or Superwoman) in all of us. When you watch the video you understand it better. It's the little things we do in life (or the ones we choose to ignore). My mom told me once to do good deeds at least once a month. I believe to do one good deed a day, if not twice a day.

By that I don't mean jumping into a fight on the street when there's a chance that you get harmed. By that I mean a simple thank you or bless you to random people; on the street, at the bank while standing in line, in class, at work, or at Starbucks of all places. By that I mean saving snails after a rainy couple of days. Holding doors for others, or giving up your seat to a person who may need it more. By that I mean a simple smile rather than a frown even when you feel like crying - pretend you are an actress or an actor working on a shitty day and performing to her or his best ability!!!

I have been saving snails ever day, smiling to people even though they gave me a stinky look, saying bless you when someone sneezed, and I have been holding doors. I have also kept up with going out and spending money on occasions I cannot afford but I saw it as a good deed.

I feel like Superwoman.
I may not have saved people, or flown around but I feel accomplished.
Today's deed is unknown but we shall see.

So, what is your good deed of today or this week at least?
There has to be one!

I'm Alive - Christmas Miracle Video Included

But in the meantime...I'm sleeping, cleaning, organizing, trying to find gluten free ladyfingers, playing with two white dogs, revamping my blogs, catching up on my favorite tv shows, buying last minute Christmas gifts, and trying to enjoy every single day so that I can cry later on when I find out I failed all my classes. Okay, the last part is probably not true, but I barely made it. This semester was beyond tough hence the lack of posts and comments and all.  I am so glad it is over.

I am also so glad it is Christmas time.
I went to an assistant living center in south Orange County and besides it bringing back memories I felt we did the right thing to be present, to cheer them up and let them know that they are not alone, and that they are actually special. It was an emotional day. You either had to be strong and hold those tears back, or you left quickly, bawled everything out and then returned.
After our trip we discussed what we just saw, did, and made happen and then out of nowhere one of the girls mentioned the video below. I thought I'd share this with you before I stop writing and start cleaning (ugh!). I am sure you've seen this before, or maybe even seen it on my facebook wall because I had to share this. If not, here you go. Enjoy some holiday spirit - whether or not you celebrate Christmas...it is a holiday season here...and holiday seasons are magical.

Make Sure Your Mouth Smells Exactly Like Your Butt

One more week guys and everything will be over. I cannot even put in words how happy (and also sad - more on that next week) this just makes me. In the meantime I am busy busy busy. I do need breaks though....and my favorite thing to do then is to watch youtube videos. Don't judge. It's what it is. :)

Today, like on many other days...it is the Sad Dog Diary.
If you've seen it and love it as much as I do...you know what I'm talking about.
If you haven't seen it please do. It's beyond adorable, funny and just distracting.
A distraction is needed.

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!

Hey everyone,

This week is going to be super short. Not only do I only have classes today and then I'm off (darn if I had known that before!) I can finally relax a little more when it comes to this semester. However, there's still a massive amount of work for me to be done and a lot to be considered regarding my future. When life gives you lemons....you know what I mean.

But for today...and heck for the rest of this week, month, year, and why not life...I'm leaving you with the following video. This totally made my Monday Morning. It made up for a crappy weekend, and it made me smile and feel better.

Here you go...have fun!!

Linking up with the fabulous Leeann over at Join The Gossip. I cannot miss her weekly linkup Monday Morning Gossip - it's too much fun! And my gossip of today is literally....listen to this kid, high five a stranger, and say please and thank you more often!!!

Happy Monday.

Impossible by James Arthur

I'm not a huge fan of reality shows *yes, I know* but I watch them occasionally when I'm too lazy to switch channels or think. I'm also not a huge fan of music/sing/talent shows such as The Voice, American Idol, X-Factor, you name it. It's just not my thing. Not saying they are bad. I just don't feel the need to watch them every time I have a free second to watch television. However, I have to admit I watch The Voice (US version) because of obvious reasons *hello, Adam - engaged or not*. I have to admit that much. Europe has always had the same or similar shows, and they were okay. The UK is known to have more shows than other countries and yes, when I am in Europe and there's nothing on TV or I feel sick to my stomach or something I will switch to an English channel and watch a talent show.

This summer, our local radio station plays one song quite often. I love it. So much, I have to turn the volume up. Crazy, I know. Well, it's James Arthur's version of Impossible. He won the X-Factor UK in 2012 with this and oh boy, I'm hooked. Shontelle's version has always been one I admired but James' ? I can feel the pain, the despair, and well, the love.

You be the judge. Which version do you think is better?

Hurricane

Most of my favorite shows not only entertain me visually but musically as well. So, today's musical inspiration comes from Pretty Little Liars. Who would have thought that?! Well, it's obvious that this show has terrific soundtracks so really, I had to post this. However, I have to apologize for the video. Just listen to the song...the video to me is kind of disturbing and absolutely NOT MY FAVORITE. I'm not a huge video fan and this particular one really takes the cake. :(

Enjoy the song though.
Happy Tuesday.

The Song that's Stuck...

...it's happened again. I heard a song and baaaammm. It's stuck. Whenever I heard it I wonder what actually happened while this song was created. Then on second thought I just don't want to know. ;) I really do. Also, I can't stop moving and singing along...what's wrong with me now?!

Have you heard this one before?

Either way, let me know what you think...OMG :)

March 2013 - It's Time

Welcome to my spring!

Yes, I don't care about official dates that supposedly tell us that spring starts or summer or any other season. March is the first day of spring to me. Like it or don't like it. I'm okay with that. Though I am hoping spring will make me happier, make me feel better and bring good things along. I have high hopes.
*February ended bad - with two bad grades and a sad face on my part*

So far, my spring (March, April & May) looks pretty much like fun.
I have tickets ready to two concerts and one game already. Can't get any better than that. :) So far, each month will have one event going I'm looking forward to. I might add a few more events but I'm content with what I'm seeing in my calendar already. I'm finally gonna live life a little because it's needed - not that I have the money!

Wanna know where I am going?

My favorite event will be in May...and it'll include this song...

Happy Weekend y'all!

Song of the Day - The Lumineers

Do I need to say more? I don't think so.

Happy Valentine's Day Week.
