Oh no

It's Wednesday morning and I woke up with some weird headache not really knowing what hit me. Maybe it was the beer from last night (gotta love our German brewery), maybe it's my lack of sleep lately, maybe it's stress at work (we're back at being yelled at!), or maybe it's just stress and this awful fog hovering over us and not going anywhere. :( And yes, this fog is killing me. If this continues I will have problems again. A year after I moved back here I got so incredibly sick I thought my life was about to end. This fog triggered my lung problems (yes, all true - go ask my doctors! Yes plural!) and it was one thing I don't want to experience again. Now, when I go out I just bundle up like crazy and try to breathe as little as possible (which is almost impossible, we know that).

Officially I have only three more work days. That my friends will change quite some bit in my life. Not sure how and when but it just has to. I wanna cry right now because 1) I loved working with people, and speaking three different languages in a minute and juggling all kinds of things and being the boss when no one's around *yes, we were literally put in that position* and 2) my monthly income wasn't the best but it was money that came right into my account and that will stop now.
However, maybe it's for the better. Scratch that one...I know it is for the better. I'm not 20 anymore where people can try to push me left and right and use me for that matter. I'm not a pushover. I have the right to have my say in things, and I'm strong enough to stand up for what I want or in this case don't want. My life and my health are more important than a regular salary. I started noticing things that won't be mentioned on here that scared me and made me realize that I needed to change things, and that fast. So I know this is going to be a good thing, despite my current shivers and moments of anxiety towards that topic.

I literally hate it when people ask me what I am going to do next.
I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do and as frightening as this may be I think it's a wonderful thing, too. It's going to be me-time!!! Like, literally me-time. :)

Ok, enough said, well written...gotta go. I need to rest my mind.
And yes, I may be a bit MIA with comments and such in the new few days/weeks...why? Well, my reader is exploding, sometimes it doesn't even open up, and I'm unfortunately in no mood to comment on your lovely blogs. However, I'm reading them all...if it's fashion, life lessons, scary stories, recipes, problems, or just the regular random stuff you all talk about...I read it all. :) And to 99.9% it always makes me think and smile!

Three more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!

Let's Cook

What do you do when you're bored?
I usually end up watching endless stuff on TV, or read books, or just sleep all day long. Ha! ;)
So, this weekend right after work I was bored and exhausted. And...I felt like cooking. Not that I worked hard on that topic but I had a sudden idea to find funky-looking kitchen pictures...and the result, well, you can see here: (all pics via google images)

The above picture is one of my favorite kitchen...so clean, pure, and just awwwwwwwwwwww...

And who wouldn't want to work in a kitchen with a view like this one?! Really.

But I would never turn down a kitchen that looks as spacious and as luxurious as the above one. :) Can someone please help me win the lottery and buy a house big enough so I can have a kitchen like this?!
Pretty please!!!!????
Thank you.

Hope you had a fantastic weekend.
Mine was okay. Foggy most of the time, weather-wise of course.

This week's going to be an intense one.
Enough said.

Attempt Numero 438

Ok, let's see if this works.
For the past few days I've had troubles uploading pictures and it literally drove me insane.
I know what the problem was, and while I was trying to fix it I also quite failed at that attempt.
Nonetheless, I hope I found another way to post a picture I would like to share or at least post on here.

It's nothing special, but it's a cute little October collage I once put together and now tried to share and wow...this silly, very simple task, too me days. Insane. Maybe I'm just getting old and forget how easy internet steps work?! Who knows.

So, here's to October being a wonderful month.
It's been quite foggy for the past few days here in the city and it's just plain ugly. Granted, walking to work in the morning and feeling like Sherlock Holmes back in the day...is just super awesome! However, I'd rather have some sunshine and blue sky. Really. Living in the city sucks these days. My lungs won't like it. :( But that's another story.

Hope you've been having a fantabulous weekend!!!!

Friday Funny with my five new boyfriends

So, it's again Friday...and well this means usually two things.
Today I decided on finding the funny moments I enjoyed this week and one particular email came to mind.
So I am playing along with Kelly's Friday Funny.

Keeping Up With Kelly & Co

So here is the email that made me smile and that made me actually press the forward button!!!

My Five New Boyfriend!

I am seeing 5 gentlemen every day:

As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me get out of bed.

Then I go see John.

Then Charlie Horse comes along, and when he's here he takes a lot of my time and attention.

When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the day. He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint.

After such a busy day I'm really tired and glad to go to bed with Ben Gay.

What a life!
Oh yeah, I'm also flirting with Al Zymer and thinking of calling Jack Daniels or Johnny Walker to come and keep me company.

Now remember:

Life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes...

...so have fun, think 'good thoughts' only, learn to laugh at yourself, and count your blessings!!!

Pictures to this message would have made it funnier, but again, I'm having troubles uploading them so I won't bother with that. :( It's a hassle I have no time for and one I would like to skip if I can. :)

Happy Friday everyone!
I was thinking to post something completely different for today and failed.
However, this post is something to look at, smile at, and remember that life is precious and shouldn't be taken for granted. And this again, makes me realize that those travel plans I have in mind are the best thing I ever had; at least for the current state I'm in. So, I should embrace this fact and book that ticket, and if I need to stay longer change the ticket (even if it costs me something), because I will have time and I should enjoy every second of it. If I try to please everyone around me (I would miss out on Christmas markets in Germany, a huge birthday party, and the annual Christmas dinner with so-called friends) I will get nowhere and end up more miserable. It's time to take action. It's time for Selma-time!!! It's time to be selfish...for once (or again?!).

ironically, I was able to upload this picture.

Breakfast

all via we ♥ it

I could go on but this makes me hungry.
Never have I thought of breakfast being one of my favorite meals.
Unfortunately, I hardly have time to enjoy it let alone have a decent start in the morning. Shame on me.
We should all treasure this meal each morning and make it special...or at least have it as special as even possible, even if it means to sit down and eat milk and cereal in the morning.

Now you wonder why I'm writing about breakfast. Well, I wonder, too. I have no idea why this very important meal came to my mind. Maybe I went to a bookstore and saw a whole book about breakfast? Maybe I didn't but watched the European version of the food network and got hooked on omelette's, fruit salads, and more. Or I just thought we should all remember that breakfast is a good thing, or I'm simply going nuts. Either way, today you get a breakfast post from me. :)

Somehow I can't wait to have some time off and cook each day. Or at least try to cook because let's face it, cooking for myself isn't fun. I wish I had someone to cook for, at least share my burned stuff with. Ha! Yes, it's official, I'm going crazy. Welcome to my tiny world.

And before I stop writing for today...I would like to apologize in advance for some emotional posts coming along. I have a few more days left at work and things around here could get sad, and just blah. Maybe I shouldn't write during that time, maybe I should. We'll see. However, if I do and things might sound horribly sad or filled with emotions so weird and strong...so sorry!!! All kinds of thoughts and ideas go through my mind at this very second and it will be worse in the next upcoming weeks...so bear with me, okay?! Thanks.

Have a fantastic day!!!!!

xoxo,

♥ Selma ♥
