Gift Ideas for the Hostess #4

We are approaching the happiest time of year pretty soon my lovely readers. It is next week. It may be the 16th today but next week is when Christmas knocks on most of our doors. If you are still invited to a holiday party, or your mom decides to invite the whole neighborhood so you can meet Mr Right {you never know...}, then don't forget to bring something with you when you attend as a sign of appreciation and a thank you. After all, you aren't going just to eat and drink, right?!

Love the decanter {can you tell I love wine?!}, the chalkboard, the NYC coasters, and yes, even the lip balm set. You cannot go wrong with any of these. Even just a nail polish can make anyone's day. Plus, even if you are not invited to any party but you are attending a family dinner this holiday season you can still bring your mom, your dad, your siblings, aunt, grandparents, or even in-laws something. Look at it as a special holiday present; just showing your gratitude and happiness to be part of that special event {whatever if may be}.

Have an amazing day my lovely readers.

Gift Ideas for the Hostess #3

It's another week closer to Christmas and another possibility to get invited to yet another party. There was once a year where I was invited to at least five parties in two weeks. Plus, the invites came pretty much three days before the event. Either people got really spontaneous or they just forgot to invite me, OR they heard my gifts were amazing so they decided to host a party! HA!

It is not easy to find the right gift for anyone. If you don't know the host or hostess it is even harder. In that case I would go with the easiest: flower, chocolate, or {best one} a bottle of good red wine. When you know the host or hostess you can cater towards their hobby, style, or likes. One of my friends is a huge Italian food lover. She threw an early holiday/birthday/house warming party and I knew I was going to get her a big basket of lots of Italian goodies. I found this amazing store that only sells specialties from Italy...it got pricey but it was so worth it. I did combine all three events in one basket, so in a way it wasn't that pricey after all. :)

Look at these beauties. You can never go wrong with a holiday inspired ornament, or a cheese/meat board. Look at this cure and fuzzy throw {sold out unfortunately}, and the sparkly decanter. There are so many options. No need to go all fancy. Again, it depends on who invites you and what you know about the person. Now, excuse myself while I am headed over to Nordstrom's to get those copper mugs

Can you believe we are almost hitting mid-month?! Unbelievable. Are you done with holiday gift shopping, or are you getting mostly stuff done now or last minute?! There is nothing wrong with that. I once experienced first hand that last minute presents can be in fact better and more fun than early bought presents. :)

Have an amazing day!!!

Gift Ideas for the Hostess #2

Another week, another idea for more gifts. This month is long and it should end with fun celebrations. Plus, to bring a gift has never been not accepted. At least I never heard of that.

Are you going to party your friend is hosting, your co-worker invited you to, or your mother wants you to attend so you can finally meet so-and-so?! Here are a few more ideas of what you can bring to make your hosts happy!!!

How about the ornament? I love getting a new ornament each year. Or fun glassware? Or pour spouts, or a vase? How about a fun tea towels; they always brighten my day. So many things to bring your host, so many possibilities to brighter anyone's day this holiday season.

Missed the last round? Don't worry, I have you covered here. :)

Gifts for Him

My man's birthday is coming up. Don't worry, I am ready and have some precious gifts for him. It was not easy as his birthday is twenty days before Christmas. I had the hardest time figuring out what to get him. It is not just the gift itself but the fact that three weeks later I would have to give him something else. Yes, I know, Christmas is not about the gifts at all. I know, I know. However, when your entire family makes you write a Christmas list you know you will receive something, so in return you feel compelled to do the same. Plus, we all love to open a few gifts either on the 24th or the 25th. It brings back childhood memories of some sorts.

Either way, guys are never really easy to get gifts for; mine certainly isn't. Yet, there's always something he needs or secretly wants. One of my friends give her favorite person nothing. She claims that having brought children into this world was her gift, forever. I don't know about that. He showers her with gifts, so I would at least think of one item I could make him happy for one day. Don't get me wrong, I love my friend, I just think it's odd.

Anyways, if you are having trouble finding something for you guy, last minute of course, maybe these simple items may spark an idea. I know mine will get a special T-shirt, shoes {well, we will go together shoe shopping...poor guy will be in trouble, or will it be me?!}, and a few items I know he will use and love. Here's to me finding more last minute gifts because yes, not only is his birthday coming up but Christmas, too.

Wish me luck!

Gift Ideas for the Hostess

With the holidays around the corner there is a chance that we get invited to a party or two. Whether it is one held by your work, your best friend, your parents, or a friend of a friend you will be a guest. I was taught to always bring a gift to the host or/and hostess. It doesn't have to be anything special; something small, like a cute napkin, flowers, or a bottle of your favorite wine would do the trick. It shows your appreciation to the hosts and once you are the one giving a party you would probably want something cute in return as well. I definitely say never no.

Untitled #121

I'd definitely say yes to the pillows, an ornament, candles and any bottle of wine. Depending on the event I have seen people being very creative with their gifts. I love the fall-winter coasters, and unfortunately it is something I don't see people use as often anymore. Maybe I am hanging out with the wrong crowds? Coasters are so much fun! I brought once a unique bottle holder to an event and it was the best gift that evening; that is if you know the hosts and their love for wine. ;)

Are you invited to a holiday party, a get-together of some sorts this time of year!? If so, and you are not sure what to bring, don't feel overwhelmed. Sometimes simpler is better.

Happy early Thanksgiving my lovely readers!!!
Whether or not you are celebrating know that I am very thankful for you!

GiftRocket - Makes GiftCards fun again!

Hi my lovelies,

Today, my awesome friend Marjan {and former roommate} is guest posting for me. She wanted to do this for a while but life happens and takes over sometimes. I am glad we both found the time to do this today. Marjan doesn't blog anymore but loves to write and share her wisdom. Besides her regular job she is also a MaryKay Consultant in Southern California. So if you are in need of new products or want to help her with her growing portfolio then do not hesitate to contact her.
You can follow her on her Instagram and get in touch with her that way.

Hi everyone,

I am Marjan, and I am so happy to be guest posting for Selma today.

I cannot believe how fast time flies. It was just last year during the holidays that my work was giving out gift cards whether it was for winning a raffle prize during the Employee Luncheon, holiday party gifts, or for the Employee of the Month Award {$200 - woohoo!}.

I want to take the time to tell you about GiftRocket and why it has been an amazing and efficient experience for me personally! It is basically the easiest way to send cash gifts. It is done in three easy steps, and you can schedule a transaction for a future date.
Simply, it is a cash gift with an e-card. You can even suggest where the cash gift can be used. Best part? It is all via email - no paper wasted, no card to lose and no unused balance. The recipient can choose between bank transfer, credit card, check in the mail, or PayPal.

Don’t you hate when you get a gift card to somewhere you cannot use? Well, not with Gift Rocket – it is flexible and really like getting a cash as a gift! Check out their website or Facebook

Happy employees certainly equals a happy work life!

GiftRocket is a great way to make anyone smile. If you haven't tried it yet I can only say good things about them.

Thank you for letting me guest post and be part of this great community.
Have a great day.

Hope you enjoyed Marjan's guest post. Don't forget to stop by her Instagram and say hello!

Last Minute Valentine's Day Ideas

last minute v-day list
If you are into Valentine's Day and its cuteness but haven't fully gotten new items to enhance this so-called romantic day, then here are a few items that may add a little sparkle to your V-Day. If you didn't catch the sarcasm...I don't like Valentine's Day. I believe it is a holiday people invented to make more money. Don't get me wrong, I love everything I see and put up here. I even own the perfume and will probably get those earrings and the bag or the mug {I am obsessed with cute mugs}. I just don't understand why "we have to" go all out on February 14 for our loved ones. What happens with all the other days?! Seriously. Same goes for Mother's Day.

I digress. If you need to spruce up your wardrobe or are still looking for something cute to add to your home there's still time. It's in one week, so breathe. I have my nails painted pink and own a pair of cute, fluffy and pink socks but that's about as close as I get to "celebrating" this day. Those earrings are darling and call my name. I can hear them.

Have a fantastic weekend!
