Please???

My lovelies,

I have so much to tell you.
Yet this has to wait for another time.
Today I am hoping to get a real, working, no-issue added internet connection installed as well as real, no-issue, fine-working TV channels showing up in our small but cozy apartment. Fingers crossed. Toes crossed, too. It's been horrendous, and it's been frustrating. Quite frankly, I also believe having had this many issues with just one company alone has tested both, my favorite person and my own patience. If we could have we would have switched a long time ago. Unfortunately, we were forced to choose them and only them and it's made our new life here in NorCal unpleasant.

Let's hope for a better month of July. A much happier, too. :)
I can guarantee a happier one!!

For once...we are planning on visiting SoCal soon.
I am also invited to my friend's Bridal Shower in L.A. but have yet to figure out if I can go (fingers and toes crossed again, please!)
Plus, July - besides June of course - is my favorite month. It calls for BBQs, water fun, picnics, outdoor movie theaters, cold drinks, colorful outfits, and of course lovely moments. Love is definitely in the air my readers...may it be in my life, in yours, in someone else's or just in general...love is in the air!! So go out and smile at someone, that's already part of "love".

I'm going to do just that...after the internet is hopefully installed.

Have a great day!!!

xoxo

My 7 links

A while back I was thinking "hey, I should take a look at my old (embarrassing) posts and just see how awful I did" and then a few days after that, I was tagged by awesome Erin from Living and Loving in L.A., and I just knew I had to do this post. Granted it took me a while to do this but it was so much fun to go back and read my posts and relive what I shared with you. So, anyways, without further blahblah here's the tag-post I'm going to share with you all.
Thanks Erin!!!

Why beautiful? Philly is beautiful! By just going through these posts made me miss the East Coast a little more. I had the best time with friends and family and I just fell in love with Philadelphia. Never thought I would, but I did and I cannot wait to go back there soon!!

Oh Pinterest...

For some reason my participation that week was greatly appreciated...haha.
I am also very much in love with this picture!

Most controversial

Happy Friday

I chose this post to be the most controversial because again, I bet you we have forgotten most of this. I could go on here and lecture you and me about how fast time goes and easily we forget and how very superficial we all can be, and even are. But I won't. I won't tell you that. It's not the place nor the time to do so, and I believe deep within we know this. Do we accept our ignorance? Maybe. We shall never know.

As much as I didn't want to share this again I simply had to. It felt good writing about it, and it still feels good today. It helped a ton and I am grateful for this blogger community, and its support and understanding.

J. is missed daily.
It's funny, one thing I missed on my birthday was that she didn't say "Happy Birthday", and now she'd be proud of me knowing I am back to a place I missed and loved so much. She certainly would be proud. J. you know you are missed. But I know you're having a good time, and that you're watching over us. I know you are. I see and feel it every day.

Post whose success surprised you

Love and other things

Can't say it's a successful post but I loved the pictures I chose, and I love the fact that I could be honest and write it all out. And I was surprised that I actually had time to focus on love...even just for a little or that week and month in general.

Post you feel didn't get the attention it deserved

Green is the new black!

Over the past few months I learned more about recycling and reusing and I still love it. I am also trying to teach my friends how to do it better. They throw away all kinds of recyclable items it breaks my heart. Where I live we have a trash room and in that trash room we have two slots. One for rubbish (literally says rubbish) and the other one is for recycling. There's this neat sign above it explaining what goes in there, and trust me, all those items there are usually thrown into the regular trash bag at home so I always see that and yes, I always take it out and separate it. Granted, it's not the most classy move, but hey, I gotta do what I gotta do and I am teaching my roommates to do the same. Water and milk bottles, shampoo bottles, hand soap, and even the Nutella jar/bottle thing are all recyclable. Add the Ketchup bottle, too, and all kinds of other things and you awesome. :) Just look at it. If it's plastic, or carton, or even paper or glass it is going into the recycling slot, if not it may as well belong into the rubbish slot. Easy as that.
And for those that get money out of all the recyclable stuff...you know what I'm talking about. If not, you have to go back to recycling 101 and learn about the triangle and its number indicating what the plastic stands for. ;) Hehe.

Post that you are most proud of

Fashion. Coming from me? No Way!

This post comes very close to the most popular. In fact my stats were out of control. However, I chose this to be the post I am most proud of. Not because it's fashion, and not because it hit so many clicks, but because I was writing about my friend and her passion. I am immensely proud of her and her accomplishments. Very proud!!!

So, I am done for today! Yay!!! Hope you enjoyed my little links for today.
I decided to do this fun post today instead of my regular rants or inspirations. I am not a fan of tagging people and answering questions but we gotta do this sometimes, don't we?!

Speaking of which...I am somehow tempted to do a Q&A thing and I am not sure if I should. What do you think?!

And here are five bloggers I nominate for this fun tag post:

Sierra @ Ocean Dreams
Amy @ Crazy Random Happenstances
Sam @ A Careless Man's Careful Daughter
Ashely @ She's Come Undone
Christianna @ The Girl With The Blue Bow
Leeann @ Join the Gossip

A little surprised and upset

If you read my tweets on Sunday (just a few I have to say) you may have read "I love the Internet very very much...", and things like "don't take it for granted" etc. It has arrived. The time that will change some things, for most of my friends and family, heck, even for me. I'm talking about censorship and its ridiculousness. There, I said it. For most of you, the Internet is your work place, a place to meet long lost friends and stay in contact with everyone and everything, read the news, play games, watch missed episodes, inform yourself, get help, and express yourself through blogs and similar ways. Really, it is a source for everything.

I appreciate the Internet. A lot. Now, more than before. Although I cannot watch or see everything you guys in the US or UK can (yes, believe it or not!!) I still do appreciate the fact that I can use Skype, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, and type in search words just as I please.
I also know that some of my readers and even your own readers out there have had problems in the past to access the Internet properly, to read everything, or to even use it. We all also know what a certain large country did and banned, it was all over the news. You would think we live in the 18th century again, where everything you do and think and believe in is questioned and you cannot use your modern thinking for your own future. Does this make sense? Maybe. Maybe not.

Don't touch my Internet!

So, imagine me reading for weeks now that a certain quite modern country (more modern at times than my current one - yes, there I said it, too!!) has decided (ok, not the country but unfortunately those "in charge" of it) to censor the Internet starting in August. They already started, that is for sure. And although I do understand some points I don't understand why a country apparently so open and so in need to become something big and something European wants to go that way. Its people rely on the news, on the possibilities to express themselves, to learn more, to live more, and to stay in contact with everyone and everything.

Do I only surf websites that only come from Switzerland (where I live at the moment if you haven't noticed! - Haha!) ?! Hardly. I would be stuck in a lifeless world with some info but just not enough. Yes, I do read those sites but for like ten minutes and then I'm going full force: starting here in mainland Europe, then up to the UK and then over the US. I try to read it all or at least get an idea of what is going on around the world. My favorite online newspapers are all bookmarked and I love it. Thanks to Twitter I even get more up-to-date info. Amazing!
When I need a recipe I just type something in and see what happens. When I want to drool over amazing clothing I so want but won't get I go online and look for stuff. New book ideas are gained through the Internet as well, although I love going into a book store. Fun videos cheer me up. The Internet is my friend. Not my best but it is my friend. My real friends and I keep in touch like this, because they live far far away and I am stuck here. And then there is this wonderful community I call the blog world. I love that the Internet gives me a chance to express myself, read, learn, broaden my horizon, and still keep me sane enough to enjoy the real world, too.

Though what I read, and must hear from friends is not funny anymore.
I have encountered those bans years ago. I was a bit shocked at first and thought the Internet went down but then I read the small prints and wow, I was not only shocked but angry. Then I learned more, and stumbled upon so many other things that are not working in the so-called Internet world. So hearing this news is not surprising to me, although still shocking and upsetting. Just knowing it is possible, and it will indeed happen (unless some miracle appears in the middle of right now and August) and destroy quite some people and their lives. Not saying people depend on the Internet, but it is a source we grew to love (or hate), and one that just belongs our generation and the next.

More info on what I'm talking about this here and here and here or here or even here.
There is more but I don't want to bore you!

Sunday afternoon was a big day for all Internet people.

You may not be affected by this but think about how lucky you are for not having to deal with this, at least not now, and hopefully ever. Remember how irritated you were that blogger didn't work for a short while? Imagine you cannot blog at all anymore? Anywhere. Or keep your friends posted on your life with new and normal pictures of you. Just imagine. Just be happy!

I know this was a different post.
Sometimes different posts are needed.

Have a happy Internet day!

xoxo,

Chicken

I don't like chickens that much. I do eat meat, and I do eat chicken but the animal itself is not my favorite. My aunt for example collects all sorts of chickens...she's got a collection of about 250+ chickens all spread around her house. For Easter this year she received a gigantic hand-made one...it was placed in front of the door without a note and ever since she has no clue who gave it to her. Quite creepy. It wasn't me. I was in L.A. and had no idea about this. Though I digress...the following clip is from youtube and I apologize to those that can't watch it because it is either banned or not available in your country. :(     Either way, my lovely cousin was so kind to give me some hints on what to watch whenever I feel down. She told me to go on youtube and search for this particular chicken. It's from a cellphone company in Turkey, and their "mascot" is a chicken! A cute one I have to admit. I just thought this commercial was cute. No comment. ;)

April 14

Thoughts I encountered while my internet was down...

...by the time you read this it'll most probably be the end of this month. Well, while visiting friends and family I have some slight trouble using the internet; hence, my absence. Honestly, it bothers. I'm not obsessed with the internet, blogging, myspacing or facebooking but I love to stay in touch with people and see how everyone's doing while I'm away. And, I like to update everyone on my whereabouts. Unfortunately, I am not able to do this... It's April 14 at 8pm and all I want is to check Emails, make sure my flight back to Europe leaves as scheduled and well, I just need it. Once a day is enough but once it has to be. So, I just came up with this little "past blog" of mine. I'm handwriting this and the minute I adjust to life back in Europe I'm going to post this. Silly, I know but I want to do this. I'm trying to keep this short and simple...so here we go: It sure was a perfect day today. Started out beautifully with sun, blue sky, no clouds...you name it. I thought it was the perfect time for shopping. I really did go out shopping! My money's gone now but I satisfied my needs and my wardrobe is now renewed. And well, I also enjoyed the sun on our patio today overlooking the water and just indulged in the moment. Love it in California. Always have and always will. I so can never get enough of this!!!!
