How to Enjoy Rain

Happy Monday everyone.

How was your weekend? I hope it was filled with lots of fun adventures. Even if you stayed home I hope you were able to relax, sit back and enjoy a wonderful October weekend. As for us, we went away for a few days. We met up with the in-laws, and enjoyed a full weekend filled with wine-tasting, beer-tasting, pet-cuddling, and sunshine! It was needed. I miss having pets, so cuddling with dogs and cats was incredible. There is so much love given by a pet, it is the {almost} best feeling ever.

This weekend was also the weekend I had no computer, hardly any cell reception and just one book on me. It was relief and pleasure not to be connected with anyone at all times. I unplugged and it felt phenomenal. If you have ever done this you know this feeling. It's just pure, refreshing, and perfect - at least for one long weekend.

Now that we are back home this week will be busy!!!! Paperwork needs to be sent in {then we just wait}, my favorite person's job interview is Wednesday, some early Halloween fun will be part of this week as well as us going to San Francisco to meet a friend of ours. Cannot wait. I am so glad his work schedule is steady now and he gets Sundays off. He always worked on weekends and it wasn't fun. I could never plan anything. Last week his work finally gave him the okay to get a more steady schedule which allows him to balance school, life and work at once. Also, rain is in the forecast. Rain!!! I don't even remember what rain feels like, let alone temperatures that make you feel like fall. This week is going to be exciting, busy, fun-filled and hopeful.

So, I am enjoying rain...or just the thought of it looking forward to some drops falling onto the car today!

Happy Monday! I am ready for this week, are you?!

Rainy Days

{via}

I had a little gluten problem.
So much for feeling better and being more optimistic with this whole gluten free thing.
I failed and I have been sick for two days now.

It has cooled down in Southern California and it has been gorgeous.
I went out for the first time today...just one hour.
It's chilly, windy, and gray. I hope it will rain soon because well, it is needed.

How's your Friday?!

Being sick has its advantages...I can read books, drink lots of tea and enjoy possible rain.
Oh and I can finally catch up on my favorite TV shows.
Revenge, Revolution. PLL, HIMYM, and The Vampire Diaries.
There's more but a sick girl can only watch so much.

Hello July

July started wet.
It is going to rain throughout the week. I am okay with that if temperatures stay as mild as they are at the moment. It is still summer, so it is natural that I want to enjoy warmer days but I also enjoy the fact that I don't need to change my clothes every hour because of the summer heat.
So please, July, keep it mild and slightly less rainy. Thank you.

In other news, I found a birthday gift for my friend...she is celebrating today.
Also, I have a feeling my friend's baby is about to say "hello" today or tomorrow.
I am so going to buy all of these.
Oh, and a new laptop was bought yesterday.
The old one died. Slowly; but he is now resting forever.

How has this week been for you?

And to all of my American readers...Happy Fourth Of July!!!!!!

Semi-Wordless Monday

So my lovelies...
...no hot guy today. No.
I know I am sad, too! Soon again though, I'm sure! :)

How was everyone's weekend?!
Mine? Thank you for asking. It was okay. I did indeed some productive things, and even saw an old friend of mine and chatted for four hours sitting on the same chair and then realizing we totally lost track of time. This is actually a good thing, no?! We even people-watched which can be weird and shocking I have to admit. Oh and I feel bad for all those tourists here in the city. It's been cooler now, add some unexpected heavy rainstorms and well...tourists thinking it is always and anywhere 85 degrees in July. Unfortunately, it is not. We barely have 60 degrees now, and it's just wet. Luckily today (at least so far) it did not rain. Looking outside though...I'm assuming it's gonna hit us hard tonight, in like maybe three hours?! Grrrrr....

So yeah, Monday of crazy week #2 has started, and again, thank you for all your positive vibes, thoughts and prayers. I think it is working. Let's keep 'em coming! ;)  Thanks!!!

I wanted to keep this short and simple...so here are a few things that simply inspire me today!!! After all I wanted it to be a semi-wordless Monday post...I clearly suck at this.
Have fun!!!

Rain go away!!!!
It is July and I think I am not the only one here saying she wants to have some summer fun by seeing the sun and having dry days during these summer months?! Please?! Rain, you can come as strong as you'd like between 11pm and 5am. Thank you!!!

Happy Monday!

Thursday Blah!

This is pretty much how I would love to walk around all week long. In hot summer weather.

Unfortunately it started raining right while I was walking home loaded with grocery bags (four to be exact) and no umbrella with me. Then again, I reminded myself of my favorite feeling. I love summer rain, the hot kind. When you're pretty much sweating all day long and the heat won't leave your place, but then there's hope with tons of rain coming down. The heat's still there but you can stand outside with your arms wide open embracing the much needed and anticipated rain. At last.

I love that feeling. I really do. Not exactly while I'm walking home trying to protect my leather bag like a frantic person but I love that feeling. I had an extra (and huge) plastic bag with me so I actually put my lovely bag into that gigantic plastic bag and off I went home. I got soaking wet, my hair looked rather sexy, and my leather bag survived the fun.
And yes I walk home, and don't drive here. Kinda miss driving. I'm sure letting me back on the road at some point will be a fun thing. I'm a good driver, maybe more cautious than others my age, but I haven't been driving in so long. I miss it but I love the environment too much, and besides, living in Europe allows me to walk and take public transportation. The good kind. ;)

And walking just like that after a major rain storm is one of my favorites...it calms me. Big time.

As you can see, I'm back on Pinterest.
Awwww, how I love that site!!

Have a terrific Thursday everyone.

Wednesday Storm Alert

Last night I didn't get much sleep.
Maybe my brain was still occupied from some fun time out with the girls...we watched (finally!!) Tangled, and also Yogi Bear. To make that evening even better...our tickets were refunded and we got extra movie passes for a next time. Let's just say I love my friend M. for being brave enough to complain every time something weird happens. It has its advantages sometimes. Yay!!!

I also think that the recent rainstorms, and flood warnings have made it almost impossible for me to sleep. It's said that people sleep better when it rains. Maybe. I have to sleep first and then the rain can start, not the other way around. So, I did not get much sleep last night and I can feel that. Can I take a nap now?! Hmmm....nope. The dogs keep me awake, and I needed to wrap gifts, and in an hour or so we're about to bake some cupcakes or something. Cannot wait (insert sarcasm)!!! Oh well...

Let's hope the rain really stops today. They said it would. I believe it when I see it.
My shoes and my jacket are still wet...the dogs smell weird (yuck!), and the only good thing about this awful weather is that I can finish the chores at home...including the nap time, and TV time. Maybe.  ;) Hahaha.

Tomorrow night there's this Christmas event that we're thinking to attend. It's where we live and it's supposed to be fun with foods, drinks, games, music and snow. Fake I'm sure but it's gonna be snow. ;) Cannot wait.

Christmas Eve we're planning on cooking, going to church, and just enjoying some quality family time. :) Christmas Day...maybe some fun outside of Los Angeles?! We'll see. We're pretty spontaneous this week. But for New Year's? We cannot be that spontaneous...we need to plan ahead and the plan we had went down the tube a long time ago. :) Hope we find something else to do or go to.
Any ideas?!

To end this little post today...all I wish for Christmas is sunshine!!!
I think I see some blue sky now...finally!!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Sundays

Next Sunday it's my day off!
Today it's not. And it's been raining and cold.
And even though I absolutely don't feel like blogging or sharing (then again, there's hardly anything I could share at this point; I work, I sleep, I daydream, I work, I sleep, I daydream...maybe eat, maybe drink, maybe talk, maybe smile...and then I sleep again and daydream again and work again...it's a never ending cycle)...so I thought I'd put up some pictures that may or may not inspire me and you!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!
Wherever you are.
If you've got some sunshine and heat you want to get rid of, can you please send some over?! I'd really appreciate it. Thank you. :)

Saturdays in June

Apparently, Saturdays in June are wet, cold, gray, and just ugly. I feel sorry for all the tourists in town. They expected mild spring/summer weather and get awful fall and almost winter weather. Then again, it all could be worse. It's just rain here but in other regions it's mudslides, floods, dirt, and death.
Saturdays in June are supposed to be sunny, almost blue skied, and just cute and bubbly. Right?! That's what I thought. Don't get me wrong I love when it rains...I love the smell after a rainstorm when the water settles on the grass and on all those leaves. Streets are cleaned and everything looks so pretty. However, I can't stand it when I'm walking home with my pants wet up to my lovely behind (yes, I can call it lovely and only I can!). My shoes are soaking wet, my socks, my pants, my sweater...and yes, I did have an umbrella...thank you. Living here you got to have one. But I think it wasn't enough. So I decided to walk to work in my boots tomorrow. I'm done with having wet pants (ha, I know how that sounds!). Let's hope it helps.

Happy weekend everyone!
Hope yours isn't as wet as mine! But looking at this cute little piggy...I just can't stop smiling, can you?!!

P.s. Can you spot where I'm going to next time I have some time off?! ;)

I'm Singing In The Rain

In a few hours I'm heading back to work. Not looking for it, but hey, it's okay.
It's my job, I'm going to do it and I will survive everyone and everything!
One thing I am looking forward to is the fact that I only work three days and then I get some off time again. Lucky me! :)

I was kind of in the mood to look for cute pictures again.
It is not easy to find great things that acutally work with my current mood.
It just needs to go with my mood otherwise the whole thing is ruined...daily inspiration I mean.

Oh and this city is crazy...they're literally counting down the days till Thursday early morning.
It all starts at 5 in the morning. I will be up at 3, getting ready and everything, and then heading out so I can be out and about by 4.45am, and then enjoy almost two hours of all the craziness. After that I am stuck at work again. Not bad though. This might help me take pictures for all of you. And no, don't worry no one harrassed me about it. I've been meaning to take pictures for years and always failed. Oh, and if you know the German carnival it is nothing like it...honestly, I don't even like the German carnival (don't be offended if you do or so, ok?!). I just don't. So I'm glad it's nothing like that. Woohoo. Good for this place.
So, yes, this city's getting crazier each day and it's still not helping me. I'm not really in the mood for any festivities but it's part of this city and when you live here you must go and enjoy it. Whether or not you are from here, if you ignore and deny this festival, you are ignoring this city and its history and culture. Every city has its tradition, cultural events, and festivals...this is this city's and whoever doesn't at least go out to watch some funny costumes...well...let's not go there.

But I'm really really really digressing now...let's skip all this blablahhhh and head on over to some pictures...

all images via We ♥ It!

It's been raining over here, on and off (right now it doesn't!) and I thought it is a nice change to show some rain/umbrella pictures than the constant snow pics. :)

Happy Saturday everyone.

Coffee and Cigarettes

Rain, hail and lots of ugly gray clouds were the main characters this weekend!!!

I love rain, but during very hot days for like ten minutes and me standing outside getting soaking wet. Unfortunately this hasn't happened in a while. However, what we've been having here is just so depressing. This kind of rain is definitely not my favorite. I think no one really likes it.
Came across the picture above and loved it. Doesn't it make you rethink everything again...in regards of fall weather?! It works on me.

Hope your weekend wasn't as wet as mine...and yeah, I stayed home...as promised.
And just coffee for me, no cigarettes at all. Just saying.

Both pictures from weheartit.com

P.s. I just remember I have to put up a picture of the dress I got for the wedding last month. I know it's crazy but for some reason I promised to do so and totally forgot. And keeping promises is one thing I used to (still am) good at. I will....promised. ;)

Rain or Something Like it...

Have a terrific start into this week!
Hope your weekend was great, and that you got to celebrate some....for me it meant to go out on Saturday evening for some very delicious red wine and interesting talks, and Sunday was one boring work day. Luckily I had my book with me so I got some entertainment from that. And, yes, I looked into schools, too. A tiny start...at least something. Every day I get reminded how much I miss "home"...just got guests in from Ventura. Oh boy, it so feels like home now. The world has become so incredibly tiny...it's unbelievable.
