It has cooled down in Southern California and it has been gorgeous.
I went out for the first time today...just one hour.
It's chilly, windy, and gray. I hope it will rain soon because well, it is needed.
How's your Friday?!
Being sick has its advantages...I can read books, drink lots of tea and enjoy possible rain.
Oh and I can finally catch up on my favorite TV shows.
Revenge, Revolution. PLL, HIMYM, and The Vampire Diaries.
There's more but a sick girl can only watch so much.
Since Thursday literally our household has been sick.
First it was one person for two full days. Then Friday night I felt something arrive...
...and Saturday it was me. All day long.
Then Saturday night and Sunday...and today...it's pretty much the rest.
CRAZY.
However, we are young and we can handle this.
It's just no fun. So, needless to say this weekend has been a lazy one.
A lazy weekend with lots of fluids, lots of sneezing, and extreme coughing, and well, yes, running to the bathroom too. YAY. You are welcome for the visual. :)
Let's hope this flu/cold/nerve-wrecking-whatever-we-have goes away soon.
One more week until school starts again...ugh, gotta make the most of it...fast!!
How was your Monday?
Hope it's been better than my coughing Golden Globes' Monday (yes, I watched it again today...less blurry eyed and red nosed).
Today I'm linking up with Leeann and Sami for the weekend update. ;)
But before I *picture* update you, here's what's up with me which is some sort of an undate too...
A few days ago I experienced dizziness which kind of alarmed me. I haven't felt this dizzy and heavy-headed in months. Did not like it at all. In fact, I hated it. I was about to rip all of my clothes off (yes, really!), and walk around naked if need be just to get rid of that intense heavy feeling. I had to get some bubbly drink somewhere so I could feel a little better but it sure didn't help. I looked at my mom and she just said: "oh girl, you really must have forgotten how awful this air and altitude made you feel in the past!". Thanks mom, really. Yes I did. Well, I didn't but hoped I would not experience it at all. Two weeks into my trip home and baaaam...it hit me. I pulled myself together and tried to smile and breathe regularly.
The feeling I've been experiencing is a combination of a heavy headache, nausea, asthma, and an anxiety attack. How's that for an explanation? It just sucks. I've had it before, saw doctors and was told that this feeling in this area is simply just normal. The only way to get rid of it is to leave. Also, if you were ever wondering...Yes, I did go back to school but also left home to be back at my second or shall we call it third home to not only learn more and change my career but also to feel better and healthier. And, as a matter of fact it did work. I may not work and earn money (and that's another thing I hate at the moment!), but I am feeling better, feeling myself, living life, smiling, studying, learning, growing, and just literally finding my path in life.
So, to really update you on what's been going on...
I have been feeling off for a few days now which kind of ruined my weekend.
BUT, I enjoyed NYE with friends, and thoughout my two weeks here in Europe met a few more friends for a fun getaway, get-togethers which included day trips, lunches and dinners and just silly girl talks. I missed them all. With or without kids. I missed them all. They'll always be part of me and I know I will always be part of their lives. No matter where we are in life. I know I can count on them.
AND, I'm super stoked...two of my friends will be in California in September. Yes, eight months from now but hey it's something to look forward to and I'm super excited!!!
And now I'm sure you wanna see photos?! Without further ado...
Really...in no particular order this was my weekend, my NYE and a day trip to the only area close by still covered with snow. YAY. The rest of the weekend I literally spent relaxing, and meeting my friend for a few drinks but it turned out I should not have gone out at all.
Not the best way to start a weekend update but hey, it's my second weekend having been sick and it just plainly sucked. But, on the bright side, I am getting better. I have to. Thanksgiving is around the corner and being sick cannot be happening on Thursday. No no no!! And besides, my google reader is screaming at me...I have been neglecting it for at least two weeks. :( I feel bad.
So, my main update for this weekend is...
...yes, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't counting down the days until November 16. Ha! Let's just say that much...I loved it. I have to be honest here, when the books came out and then the movies I wasn't at all into any of those. Could not stand them, at all. Let alone that pasty face of a vampire in the film I am not gonna name here because some of you might be lusting over him. All on good terms. I just couldn't stand them. But I was once bored and started watching the first movie, then the second, third, and well now these two parts and oh boy. I'm glad I did!!!! :)
Have you seen it? Let me know what you thought!
Happy Monday!!
xoxo
P.s. Yes, I'm linking up with Leeann, Samiand Dana for the Weekend Update
I may not have a fever but my sneezing and coughing get on my nerves. My weekend was spent drinking lots of fluids, still going out and breathing in some fresh air, coughing and rubbing my nose. Oh, and fighting a headache that was caused by the clogged nose and all. I tried to have fun, but the most fun I got out of this and still am getting out of this is drinking a full glass of Alka Seltzer and enjoying the moment I can actually smell something again.
That's my main reason for being absent lately. And school.
I seriously need a break. Having had only one day off wasn't enough. Thanksgiving won't be enough either but it will be better than nothing.
I know, I have been MIA and I'm dreading to open up my reader to see how many lovely blogs I need to read. One step at a time...two projects need to be worked at for a whole week and then hopefully I find some time to relax and read and have fun with your shenanigans. ;)
I've been busy, and if you saw me you'd be thinking I wasn't...but I have been. I wish it was "good" busy though...yes, I believe there's a difference between good and bad busy. Ha!
And today, craziness came all together and kept me in bed. For a long time.
Thank Goodness for some bubbly dark drink that helped a little, and aspirin, and water...and the dogs taking care of me.
I'm still not better but I am forcing myself out of bed, out of the house, and into some cooler but fresher air. Finals can wait a little (wish me luck next week!), and the Christmas presents too (as long time followers you know I usually sent stuff away by the end of November, and this year?! Not so much. The boxes aren't even sealed yet!).
I'll take it easy this year. But I will be studying for finals and will work on everything starting tomorrow...just not the boxes. They'll become New Year's gifts I assume. Ha! Oh well, we shall see.
Yes, I think too much!!!
At least I know what I'm getting this year for Christmas!!!
Do you?
Happy Thursday everyone.
Stay warm.
Stay happy...whatever you're doing...enjoy it!!!
xox
P.s. welcome new followers! Thanks for stopping by and reading!
Okay, guys...I was spoiled last week (and didn't post about it...boo on me!) and now this week is going to be a b****. To top it all I am getting sick, too. Isn't this lovely? I have an exam Monday morning, a horrible class after that exam and a paper due Wednesday. My stomach already bugs me because I know I am going to fail this paper. I put so much effort in it but it's not what my professor wants or appreciates. I mean, I don't want to be one of those people writing a paper in 30 minutes and get an A. Well, scratch that, I actually want to be one of those...but I am not. I feel I need to read more, explore and research more. Apparently whatever I've been doing for the past almost four weeks isn't enough and she thinks I'm not doing my job. It pisses me off. Believe me. Then again, two very different world collide when we both sit down and it is not very helpful. Not even challenging. I'm just irked and very stressed.
With that being said...I will be a little more missing in action but hopefully will be back later on this week...hopefully. I miss you all.
Happy thoughts are needed.
Always.
We all know that.
Trust me, my diet after this Wednesday is going to be very sweet!!!!!
Hope you had a great weekend and a fantastic week!!
Yes, finally I am back on track (or almost) and can participate in Oh, how Pinteresting! I am obsessed with Pinterest and if you are on it you know what I mean by that. If not, you gotta give it a try because whenever I feel down or without inspiration I find comfort there. Sounds incredibly corny I know but that site has some inspirational power sometimes...ha! ;)
Without further ado...here are my favorite pins of this past week... :D
Obviously, I am in love with my area and my city! :)
I have to confess something here...
...and I remind myself weekly...I should do it daily I know!!
(sorry about the weird spacing issues today!)
Have an excellent day everyone!
It's been a very hectic week so far...I am utterly exhausted!
I have to admit I am not entirely happy it is Friday. Yes, there I said it. I chose today to work on my English paper and it seems to go nowhere. I have no idea how to start that crappy thing, and it is due next week. Not the entire paper but just the beginning of it but if the beginning fails to even stimulate my teacher's approval somewhere down the line I will fail later on. Grrrrr...at least it's not math!!
Anyhow, since pretty much Tuesday I've been working on getting better. Yes, I have been sick. Not sure why but yes, the bathroom and I are very close friends now. It's that kind of sick you get out of nowhere and don't know where it went when it's gone.
And if you follow the news...southern California (thankfully not all of it) had some fun power outage yesterday. I was home most of the day sleeping, doing homework, relaxing and all. I initially wanted to get some fresh air later on that day when the temps cooled down a little, but nope I had to go out earlier. The phone rang and we were told to pick up my friend's brother because his classes got all canceled due to no power. Hmmmm. We thought it was a joke but apparently not. So we drove and what normally is a ten-minute drive, or a five-minute drive from the exit we would take to the school...turned out to be a 40-minute turn/drive. People went nuts. Apparently some people don't know how to drive when it comes to using lights as stop signs. PLUS, why the heck did people get so upset over nothing!!! It's just power that's out. You are still alive, breathing, driving and picking up people...do not yell at me, or my friend, or anyone else for that matter. Do not tell us how to drive because clearly we can't move anymore since there's a car in front of us and hello?!, even if you could drive/pass us you would not be going anywhere either. YOU ARE STUCK.
Yes, we had some weird people yelling at us and pointing fingers and such. Not the most pleasant one. We ignored those for most part until it got nasty so we returned the favor. And for the record, we were not blocking the street or intersection. Just saying.
Luckily when we got home we still had power, so we really practically lived at the borderline of that power drama.
And to make this week fun and positive, rather than aggressive and dull...I am in love with two things this week:
Do I need to say more? Clearly NOT.
And the following product:
I am clearly in heaven whenever I use this!!
Never thought I'd be so happy using a product but I am.
That's pretty much everything for this week. It's been a hectic one, and a long one. I blame it on the long weekend we had last week and the fact that I got sick some time this earlier this week. Still recovering, still working, still breathing and all this with electricity!!!
Hope you are having a fabulous Friday and a fantastic weekend!!
The storm has to come, and once it does I'm going to be all over the place.
My body aches, my toe is doing fine but hurts from time to time, and my mood is all over. I should be concentrating on one thing only, and working my butt off in order to finish this thing. Instead, I'm sleeping like a sleep deprived person about 10 to 12 hours a day (what the heck?!), and I am pretty much doing nothing. Ok, I feel a bit under the weather and that doesn't help much. However, just thinking I'm slacking off these days makes me more miserable...however, as the quote says...the storm will come and that's when life happens again for me. I hope so. I need that.
In other news...being sick and sleepy all the time is no fun, however, it helps me find ways to enjoy some girlie movies, shows, and it also makes me work hard to fix my computer (sometimes it just acts up and this blows!), but I found a new addiction to my internet obsessed life (dang, never thought that I'd be saying this!). In addition to all kind of fun stuff online, the best is to look for pictures that inspire me and make me smile and all. The new best way to actually save those pictures, and find them and store them (and even sort them into categories) has a new name for me: Pinterest!!!!! I'm obsessed, it's not even funny anymore. Though, this has given me a new push to work harder and do what I love the most. :) Yay!
Have I ever mentioned I hate packing? Seriously, I'd rather clean toilets than doing this dreadful act of putting things together and trying to think of what I need to bring with me. I know one thing, I'm going to wear my half-winter jacket (not too think or thin) although I'm sure I won't need it. Either way, it's coming with me. It's kinda freezing here...unless the sun comes out and surprises us with its strength. :) But when I leave I'm sure it's one of those days that welcomes us with snowflakes or such. :(
Who wants to come with me?! Ha!!!
At least my suitcase is big, so I'm sure there's space for someone somewhere.
Any ideas on what to bring or not bring?
It's not my first time traveling (it sounds as if) but every time it drives me nuts!!!
In other news...good news!
One of my favorite bloggy friends just had a girl. :) I'm so excited for her.
And another one of my friend's is going to be a mom any minute...I hope. She's been waiting too long now.
And, very unrelated, I love wearing one particular perfume these days...bought it this week with a $20 gift certificate...not that it helped me much because I still spent like 80 bucks on the bottle regardless. I had to get it. I love it, and I even love it more at night when I let my hair relax for a bit, get rid of my ponytail or such, and then still smell its beauty. Ha, it's even named that. :)
...and that means Halloween's approaching like crazy. I wish we had pumpkin patches over here, and more fall like weather so I would actually enjoy this time of year. But, I'm stuck at home today with my left foot up in the air and in pain. Not sure what happened, but it's what happens when temperatures drastically change and when I walk too much or too little or both or none of that. I remember in March I had the same problem, and now again in October. So I'm in pain, and can't walk. Just fantastic. Besides that, I'm in a funk and don't seem to get out of it today. So it's better I'm staying home and finding peace within than ruining everyone else's day. I wanted to go to Zurich (about 50 minutes north of here) to watch people freeze for a few minutes...today, around 3pm there's this freezemob thing going on in most major cities and I wanted to see it. However, it's good that I'm feeling so blaaaaahhhh today, so I'm staying home. I'm sure I'd ruin it for everyone if I went. :(
Tomorrow though I'm going to meet a friend for the last time. She's flying back home to Thailand on Tuesday after about six months in Europe. I'll miss our funny conversations, but will enjoy our dessert/coffee time tomorrow! Eating sweets is the best thing to end a weekend! :) And to say our good-bye's.
And for this rather gloomy October weekend...here's what I love about fall, and wish I would see more often!
The last picture is pretty much how I'm feeling...sort of. ;)
I think I posted the same last year, not sure now, but I just love this one. Kinda cute! ;)
Hope you are having better plans for this weekend.
Can you believe that we have one week left of this month?!
I swear, time just goes by like nothing!!! Pretty scary these days.
It's gorgeous outside.
Summer in full bloom, so to speak.
Blue sky, lots of sunshine, lots of green, flowers, and flip flop wearing people...
...I'm stuck inside, sneezing, coughing and crying.
Being sick sucks.
Nonetheless I'm giving my very best to look hot today. ;)
I have to work too.
Wish me luck.
Why oh why do I have to go in today?!
And don't ask me if there's someone out there taking my shift, because there's no one.
One more reason why I can't wait to finish this job.
I've worked my butt off even when I had a fever, and today is one of those days again.
Never got a "oh sorry, thank you for coming in by the way!". Ever.
Won't get one today either.
It's almost September, time sure flies.
But until then let's celebrate August...
...and then a new month will bring us a new and strong energy boost or something like that. ;)
I can't think nor write.
My head's spinning...time to relax and go to work.
Happy Thursday!
Is it Thursday?! I forgot?!
Oh boy...
This morning my aunt wrote an email back. She expressed her feelings. It made me sad. Happy too. I am appreciated for who I am and she misses me and was hoping I would visit this Easter. I am not. I am doing something out of the ordinary. I have mixed feelings. On one hand I'm excited to see my cousins and friends again, and to explore the East Coast a bit more (not to mention Philly!!), but on the other hand my heart is yelling at me for not following my heart. We all know my heart belongs to a completely different place. But, well...I chose not to follow that direction this spring. I may visit in July?! Or I may not, and visit the northern part of that area instead. SF in July? Wow, it's been a while. Who knows I may head towards that area. I may not. We'll see. So much to think about...my aunt's a bit sad, but doing ok, and I am just confused. Haha!
Oh and I went out today for some shopping (so I'll be prepared for my spring trip). The weather here changed drastically. Last week we hit the lower 50s mark and now it's back down to the 30s!! Go away winter!!!! And I fully believe this sudden change made me sick. Out of nowhere today I got dizzy again and felt like I needed to sit down and breathe like never before. Instead I continued walking, drank water out of my bottle, and just wanted to go home. I felt dizzy and everying I looked at seemed blurry. So not a good feeling. I made it home, didn't collapse or anything, and once I got there I went straight to bed. Slept for an hour until some weirdo called the house. I didn't pick up. If it's important he/she calls again and has his/her number shown and not blocked.
And now I'm on here again. I shouldn't be, but I'm not tired nor do I feel the urge to stay in bed even on such an ugly day. Besides, I'm going to the movies tonight and need to be feeling okay. YES I am going. We already have the tickets, so I need to go. I'm gonna be fine. I just need to. It may even distract me and all. We'll see. It's just such an awful feeling not knowing what's wrong, but feeling something's just not right. They say "if the stomach area is "happy" and feeling good, then everything's good", and in my case...that area feels weird and everything's definitley not good. Sorry for any visuals...if at all. ;) But still...so I'm working on that. I'm gonna be eating lots of soup and drinking water, tea and nothing else. Wish me luck.
So, and since I sort of posted a personal list about me yesterday I'm gonna stop doing this for now on. This wasn't easy and it took me forever to do so, besides I think these little hints are enough for now. Along the way you will encounter more facts about me but that's just so very normal. ;)
In the meantime...since my aunt expressed her feelings and it made me think a lot for the past few hours (or was her email causing my health problem to occur again?! I doubt it.) here are some pics that make me dream, inspire me just for the moment and just let me be me for this very second...haha. Ok, this doesn't make sense but typing and trying to ignore my pain is a difficult task so forgive me.
So, I'm way behind everything and it won't get better.
I've been busy working, and getting better...I am dealing with some silly and very annoying stomach flu, on top of everything my right hand started to hurt or let's just say my index finger (but now I actually feel it is also my right ring finger)...so of course typing hurts like hell (excuse me but it's true) and it's just not funny anymore. Oh and a few of you know *thanks to my uncool twitter post yesterday* that my ear is infected, too. YAY!! How lovely is that?! I hate it all. I want to be healthy! What has gotten into my precious body and hit me so hard?! I have no clue and frankly I don't want to know. All I wanna know is how I'm going to get better. Soon. Like right now. Boo on this week...oh well...today is Friday (yes I know it's Tuesday, but to me it is Friday) and my weekend's about to start, so I'm gonna rest a lot, drink a lot of healthy stuff and try to get better A.S.A.P.
March is around the corner everyone!!! And whether or not things, or the weather, or whatever work with or seem to be on my side to me March means spring time and I won't allow anyone to say or think otherwise. Ok, you can think what you want but I'm announcing the beginning of spring as of Monday, March 1st!!!! Woohoo!!!
Oh I'm in pain right now so I'm gonna keep this short. *yeah right*
I think there's an award waiting for me somewhere and if you haven't heard from me about it, or think I will ignore it or whatever I won't. I also don't ignore all of your lovely comments, and posts and stories. I may sometimes comment, sometimes I may not. Don't feel sad if I don't, and don't jump like a funny, cute and crazy person around if you get a quick "hello" from my side of the world. I want to comment on everything and all the time, but sometimes I can't. Sometimes I don't feel like it and then my sentences come out wrong and it may be interpreted differently so I usually skip the commenting. But yeah, I'm here and I read your stuff...slowly but I am reading it all.
I just haven't gotten any time to check new followers out (sorry guys, but I sure will...for sure...I already sneak-peeked and loved what I saw, so yay on your blogs as well!!), and I haven't really gotten around writing much or thinking or whatever. I feel bad, but I also know you are understanding and think it is ok. Right????!!!!!??? Prrrrrrreaaaaassse?! ;-)
So well, I'm still in pain and it's ridiculous what I can write even when I feel horrible.
Maybe it's my way to ignore the pain, or my mind thinks writing helps (because, yes, that's what I've been telling myself for the past few months or so)...but when fingers hurt writing doesn't help much. So, hopefully my mind stops thinking soon and let's me rest of a few hours and then get better. We'll see about that. Plus, I don't want to stay away from this blog world too long. Why?! If you've been away for a while you know the feeling. You may be doing different things instead of blogging but there's always something missing. So for the past few days even though I was partially blogging something was already missing...maybe the fact that I couldn't connect more to all of you...who knows...but well, let's stop my mind now...I need to rest my hand...
...but before I do *and I thought this would be a quick post* I wanted to share something with you. Remember my time in Istanbul last fall?! If not, click on here, here, here or here.
Well, it's my city. My everything. More or less. It's home. I didn't grow up there but I have family there and friends, and every time I return part of me feels at home, and every time I leave this marvelous city part of me stays, too. As a little girl I went to Istanbul (and other parts of Turkey) pretty much every summer...part of a family reunion thing and just vacation at home away from home. Huh? Confused. Me too. ;)
Anyways...so, today at work I watched CNN...ok I didn't, but I was passing by the TV at work and what I saw I liked and what I like I try to share and here you go...I don't like the music of this "commercial" but the rest is ok.
But then, watching it again I kinda didn't like it anymore. So I found this one.
And this one really brought homesick tears back onto my face. Happy tears!!! I freakin' love that city! :)
But as you may have guessed...I couldn't stop and found this interesting video. Gotta love youtube and whoever puts videos on there. Thanks!!!! :)
So, if you are interested in Istanbul, or the history, or the views, or the whatever...or just what interests me and makes me who I am...here is another one... *kinda long...sorry*
I actually found a lot more videos but thought this was enough.
Don't want to bore you, frustrate you, or whatever.
Besides, I think this is enough for today...no more video overload for your eyes. ;)
At least for today. ;)
Interpret what you like, but the second "F" means freaky and nothing else.
Today is a weird day. It just started for me. Obviously I can't say much about it. I shouldn't. All I know though is that I'm going to be stuck at home, and relaxing. It's good this way. I'm feeling better. Not sure what hit me, but it wasn't fun. I had to cancel on my friend, too. We were supposed to meet for coffee or something today at 5pm but I told her I couldn't. I went out yesterday and felt like crap. Don't want her to see me this way, or maybe catch whatever I have. I'm a good girl and protect my fellow people. ;)
Then again, I have to go back to work tomorrow and want to look relaxed and ready. Wish me luck.
So despite my weird day (with a weird feeling in my stomach...hmmm...) I need some inspiration...and here we go with that one...
I ♥ this week...
I got my outfit for this annual carnival over here. It starts Feb. 11. It's nothing big. I'm working those days, but I needed something cute/fun/crazy to wear. Something comfortable and maybe also something I could use when this crazy time (or fifth season) is over. Yes, even while being sick and walking around all red-nosed and stuff I managed to buy things.
My clothes are clean again. Yes, I did laundry. Love it. Can't get enough of the smell either. But can't smell anything right now...boo on that one!
Email chat with my friend. Always love this. It makes the world seem so much smaller.
A quote. Wonderful. Very inspirational! Thanks Sam!!!! ;-)
A documentary about Los Angeles. Can you believe this? My heart melted. Big time. I miss it. A lot.
I have only early shifts!!! Which means I get off at 2pm, and that, my lovelies, is awesome!!!
My new twitter account. I'm still sure how to use it properly or whatever. But I'm sure you're going to help me out with that one. And yes, it's been fun, and quite entertaining so far.
I ♦ this week...
Being sick sucks!
Working and being sick sucks even more.
The weather. It's been gray and foggy and nothing else. Ok, it snowed one day but that was ugly, too. Not even cute snow, the ugly kind that ruins everything and makes the city look dull and sleepy.
Plane tickets to Los Angeles.
Way too expensive now. What happened?! It never was this expensive, so I'm seriously considering NOT visiting this spring. Which makes my heart ache...a lot. I don't want to spend 1500 bucks on a ticket, ok, direct but still...I never ever spent this much before.
My spring/April plans...I might be visiting another place (which is okay, too), but will be missing sunny SoCal a lot. Crap!!!!!
And to make this post look bright and shiny... some picture inspiration!!
I'm still feeling like crap but it's a lot better than before.
I'm heading out in a few minutes. I'm all ready to breathe some fresher air. It's cold outside, so I'm bundled up in my LA Tech sweater, and warm winter jacket. I just need to go out. Yay!
And well, as the quote says...I need to put up with the rain (in my case with the snow and the rain...a very weird and not so fun combination) in order to get to see the rainbow!!! So, let me go out and put up with the ugliness...
...Have a fantastic day!!!!!!
xoxo
P.s. I have so much free time right now and so much time to think I'm considering going over to twitter.com and joining that site. So much for being sick. I think I'm getting nuts. I don't want to, because I don't see the point in it but if you are on it, let me know why you joined or what actually makes it fun. Because I'm somewhat really considering this thing...
