What Are You Willing To Do For A Pizza?!

Pizza is one of my favorites. It fuels me and it makes me smile when I smell its deliciousness from afar. I even love making my own pizza, at home or in a restaurant. Over the past few years make-your-own pizza places have sprouted and it is no secret that all of them are successful {some more than others}. It is like creating your own sandwich, just this time it is a pizza.

The other day I discovered that my absolute favorite Southern California joint Pieology made its way to Sacramento. Apparently they opened about two months ago and oh my, my heart skipped a beat knowing my beloved pizza making place is just ten minutes away from where I live. Yay!!!!

This company is expanding immensely fast. When my friend M and I discovered this place they only had about three locations and all within Southern California. Now they have expanded to Arizona, Central and Northern California, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon and other states. No doubt they will open more locations.

The trick with this company is simple. Make your own pizza regardless of how many toppings you add and it's $7.95 plus taxes. They have some favorites you can order just like that, or skip the pizza and get a salad only {but to be honest, I have never seen anyone get a salad...}. Gluten free pizza crusts are also available for an extra $2 {or they forget to charge you, like they mostly forget with me and then you are even happier and luckier when it comes to the delicious outcome}. They even change their gloves for you. Plus, I have never had an issue with their gluten free pizzas, ever. Kudos to that.

So, what am I willing to do for a pizza?!
I waited 40 minutes in line the other day to get my beloved Pieology Pizza. I wasn't happy. This was the longest wait ever. It usually takes, on really heavy days and lunch/dinner hours, 20 minutes and that is tolerable. But forty long minutes was ridiculous. So I sucked it up, waited, got my pizza and enjoyed it like I always do, went home and wrote the company a few suggestions so they hopefully improve the service at that specific location {newly opened or not, service needs to be great}.

Yes, I am willing to stand in line, and I am willing to share and tell. I believe in giving back. If I am not satisfied with something I will tell. I wrote Starbucks before, had issues with other chains and what not, and always got my money back or even was sent coupons for free meals. I never raised my voice, or got mad in front of people but politely told the manager or the main people behind a brand how I felt and what went wrong. Openness and respect from me was heard and welcomed.

You might be wondering what the point of this post is?! The point I am making here is one, go out and explore new restaurants, two, if Pieology is in your area and you haven't been GO THERE NOW, and three, when you are not satisfied with something write or/and talk to whoever is in charge, be polite about it and let them know that you simply have a few suggestions for a better service or future outcome.

If no one tells them what went wrong how will they ever know?!

Dear Spider

Dear Spider,

I hope you are having fun crawling up and down the ceiling, mocking me, and creating your own little nest in my place. I hope you are happy. I hope you are busy and get pleasure out of whatever you are doing. I hope you are content because I am not. I don't want to see you when I come home. I don't want to see you at all. I want to catch you and get rid of you. Not sure how but I do. You see, I don't like spiders. You terrify me. You might be more scared of me than I am of you since I must be gigantic to you {I probably really am a giant to you} but you have eight legs if they are all still intact. You create the most intriguing things nature can offer and yes, you may get rid of bugs and what not, but this does not make me like you more. Sorry. You look weird, have eight legs {yes I have mentioned that already} and just creep me out. Please leave and never come back. Please. This is a warning to you. If you don't leave you may end dead. Yes, I am sorry. I don't want to do this but if you leave me with no other choice if you continue to create your nest here. Okay?! Okay.

A very terrified and grossed out girl.

Get the heck out of here!

Sincerely,

me

Cozy Afternoons by the fire

 “There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.”
  - Charles Dickens

*****

We survived Christmas! AND it was slightly white. Yay!
Best part of our trip to see the in-laws was that we could relax, cuddle with the doggies, and just enjoy cozy moments by the fire. Literally. Also, I got everyone winter socks {I am a dork, I know} so it was quite fun to see everyone walk around with matching socks. We had a great holiday time.

I did miss my mother and my Swiss friends but other than that we had a fabulous time, exchanged gifts and surprised each other with laughter and lots of humor. Charles Dickens knew what he wrote about.

Hope your Christmas was filled with love and laughter, and if you were celebrating Hanukkah then I hope you equally enjoyed your holiday time. We all deserved it!!

Here's to relaxing over the weekend and recharging before this year ends. We will quietly spend New Year's Eve at one of our favorite restaurants in town while celebrating our four-month anniversary. Very excited about it.

Have a great day!

Dear Person on a Bicycle

Dear person on a bicycle,

Hi, how are you? I hope you are doing well, enjoying your day today and the privilege you get while riding your bike. You looked rather chipper and just filled with joy while almost losing your life the other day.

You probably noticed I chose not to address you as a bicyclist. I chose not to address you that way because in my eyes you are not one. You think you can sit on your bike and ride along, enjoy the brisk fall morning hours on your vehicle of choice, get a little tan in as well since the sun decided to show up earlier than anticipated, and just be as free as a bird. Let me tell you one thing, and one thing only. Obey the traffic rules. OBEY the traffic rules!!

I don't care where you are from, who you are, what you do, and why you ride a bike to work or school or just for fun. I get it, I love to ride my bike as well. I do. It is indeed a fantastic feeling to be physical, outside, and moving instead of sitting in a car, polluting the area, paying for stupid {yet, decreasing} gas prices and being stuck in traffic. I know it. I feel and hear you. This feeling doesn't give you the right or permission to be stupid, it also doesn't give you the permission to not care, and it certainly doesn't give you the permission to just think you can do whatever while riding your precious two-wheeler.

Driving is a privilege, not a right!!!!

As a person driving anything, and in this case riding a bicycle, you should and actually must obey to traffic rules. A stop sign is a stop sign. A red light is a red light. A yield is a yield. Look and signal before you turn or change lanes. You get it. Right? It is very easy. You feel protected by whoever came up with funny ways of saying "three-feet distance to bicyclists is a must, and if not, then slow down" and "oh, it is never your fault, because cars are bigger and heavier and blablabla". Oh yes, we should share the road. I totally agree. And yes, cars are bigger, heavier, and could destroy you. You don't want that. No car driver wants that. No pedestrian wants that. So think before you hop on your bike next time and ride along in total denial of traffic rules and oblivious of what is around you.

I saw you. There was a four-way stop area. Everyone stopped and my turn came to turn. I saw you. I also saw you didn't give a crap about even slowing down, or thinking you should stop for a stop sign. There were at least eight cars around all waiting for their turn. I saw you. You? You just kept going.  You didn't see me. You didn't see any other person. You just smiled and kept going. I love life, and I will never harm anyone or anything, but oh my, was I glad I had my window down yelling at you and giving you my two cents of what you should and shouldn't do. You think you have the right to just ignore rules, drive through everything you feel fits your schedule and size, and think you are the boss. You are wrong.

I don't care what others say. I learned that when we learn traffic rules early on {and in this country you learn them early enough}, whether or not you are in a car, on a bike, or any other vehicle you must obey the law and follow traffic rules. This then means you must stop at a stop sign, just like everyone else. You also must stop at a red light, and not think you are genius by disobeying laws and color and signs just so you can get to your next appointment a few minutes earlier. You put yourself in danger. You may not realize this but you do. You play with life and with death. I don't know if you have a death wish but the way you looked like you certainly enjoyed your moment and were not thinking of leaving this crazy planet behind. So, next time you come to a stop sign and red light, please stop. Please obey the rules. If you are late, then please leave five to ten minutes earlier because, yes, traffic happens and you are not the only one trying to get to an appointment. You have no right to think you own the street. You own your life, and nothing else.

So, dear person on a bicycle, reconsider stepping on that pedal if you cannot obey rules. Please don't drive your bike thinking you own the streets and nothing can happen to you. Think before you ride you bike. Obey the freaking rules just like everyone else is trying to. I will yell and honk at you again, and I will use my favorite word again if need be. I have no problem with that. Don't get offended. You live. You will get verbally hurt, and in all honesty, I have no problem with that either. You deserve the words I yelled at you. You really really really did.

With that being said, our roads are for whoever can and wants to drive a vehicle...may it be a car, a bicycle, a big heavy motorbike or tractor or what not. We should all obey traffic rules. It it my responsibility to be a good driver and a good pedestrian. It is yours as well. Rules are rules. They are made for a reason. I just feel that it has gotten out of control with people trying to protect bicyclist and blaming auto drivers for reckless driving. While those drivers are partially responsible when something like that happens, I know from experience and history that it is always the fault of two parties, that includes the lovely bicycle driver as well. Both parties need to look out, slow down and obey rules. Neither one has more or less responsibility. Neither one is better, and neither one has the right to think he or she is God. Just not happening.

So, stay safe, obey rules, and share roads.
You are not the boss of the streets. No one is.

Until next time. I am sure.

Sincerely,

me

and yes, this all happened and yes, my window was down. it might not have been my finest moment but i was sooooo happy to have my window down and finally telling that one misbehaving, irresponsible and careless bicycle rider what i thought about him.

November Madness

Halloween was Friday.
We carved our pumpkins the night before and had a blast.
I also just see that our balcony is really falling apart...it's okay, we will be moving again next year. Until then it better holds us. We went nontraditional and carved a Cinderella pumpkin as well. They aren't perfect, but that's what Halloween is about. It doesn't have to be perfect, it has to be fun. The imperfections make it special and unique. Cannot wait for next year's Halloween.

Friday night we stayed in, made steaks and salad and enjoyed delicious wine. Also, I might have snuck in a few pumpkin ciders. Oh, and yes, we watched horror movies. It rained most of the time Halloween Night so I felt bad for all the trick-or-treaters that went out. We didn't get any in our area so that was good. Not that I mind, I just don't have the money for all the candy. Speaking of trick-or-treaters, we drove through an area that is pretty popular during Halloween and later on Christmas time. People go out with decorations and all, not to mention the beauty of those houses. It is the fabulous 40s in Sacramento. I found a few houses that were spectacular and I wished it wasn't raining so I could have taken more photos. I still took a couple. Cannot wait to go back and explore Winter Holiday Flair soon.

Saturday and Sunday we pretty much stayed in. Studying was number one, and laundry was on my to-do list as well. Temperatures significantly dropped as well so it was nice to stay in for once and just cuddle up with a big fuzzy blanket, and sipping on hot chocolate. November Madness began. Yes, I just made this up. I mean, can you believe we only have two more months of this year and then welcome a new one? I can't. Time has gone by too quickly and it's just incredible. So, this month will be a little crazy. Not only will I start decorating for the winter holidays, buy Christmas gifts, create a Christmas lift for myself {never done this before, so hints are greatly appreciated}, and will hopefully go to Orange County right after Thanksgiving. Yay.

So, let this November Madness begin...we are already into day three....yipee!!!

Happy Monday!

Fall Adventures

Happy Monday Morning!
How was your weekend? Mine was great!

It finally cooled down. It cooled down to a point that allowed us to do stuff outside, still wear short-sleeved shirts and all but fully let us enjoy normal fall temperatures. After all it is October for crying out loud. October should be the month when everything cools down, and I am glad this season finally got the memo.

Friday afternoon we went to Folsom for the Night of 1000 Pumpkins and it was so much fun. Granted, I believe this is more an event for children but it is still a fun {free} event to go to and see wonderfully carved pumpkins {we definitely got some ideas in for our carving time this week}, fun costumes, hear spooky music and see the kids go wild for candy one week before Halloween. Yes, they do this every year on the Friday before Halloween.

People went really out and carved beautiful pumpkins. I am more a very ordinary girl, carving the simplest of pumpkins {or painting them}, but we saw pumpkins I don't even know how to they did it let alone how long it took them to do all this - very impressive. Also, Country Living named them #3 among the 15 Amazing Halloween Celebrations in America

I am so looking forward to carving our pumpkins we found a couple of weeks ago at the pumpkin patch. I don't know what or how we are going to carve ours but I can tell you it is going to be fun regardless of what we come up with. I may just carve a heart and a few scary eyes in mine. :)

Have a great day and a fantastic early Halloween week.

xoxo

P.s. I am again linking up with Leeann and Kimberlee and their linkup Monday Morning Gossip. Feel free to join the fun and make new friends!

Hello from Moi

This will sound weird to most but if you know me personally you know I have an eye for detail and style. I have passion and even love fashion. However, I am not photogenic nor do I like to pose. I just don't like it. Maybe once I find a nice way to stand, pose or look I might, so far I have not found one. My man should try helping me out with this. We should both practice shooting and posing until we get the hang of it. It always takes time. We shall see. Nonetheless, I found a few photos of myself and thought to share them with you. Why? Well, just so you see me, and know that it is really me writing this and that I am still around...and not just constantly sitting in my pajamas on the couch writing posts.

See? I don't know how to pose. I even have to get help from Olaf. We went to a Halloween Store after our monthly massage and that is when I found Olaf. Could not resist but take his head and pose with him. After all, he is my favorite. Plus do you see my devilish smile? Yes, I was starting to feel creepy in that store...bahahahahaha! And yes, I was holding on to the No Parking Pole in Sacramento. Someone had to give that pole some love, you know.

This weekend I am looking forward to spending time with friends I haven't seen in almost two months. I miss having friends around. It can feel really lonely when the only people you know are your mailman {at least he says hello when he sees me}, your man, and the big, fat squirrel named George. So knowing I will see friends this weekend makes me incredibly happy and excited.

Here's to a fantastic weekend!!!

How I Spent My Weekend

Our weekends usually start on Friday early afternoon. My favorite person chose Friday as a school day {who in the world does that?} and so he doesn't get out until 1pm. For weeks he had been bugging me to go find a massage place because his back had been killing him. I am not a huge fan of anything chain related {except Starbucks} but would not know of any other well-known company that offered massages and wouldn't charge a super fortune. So, we got us both appointments for Friday late afternoon and oh boy, it was just what we both needed.

I knew I was stressed and therefore tense, but apparently I was more tense than I thought I would be. Moving to another area, trying to adjust to a whole different lifestyle up here {I miss Los Angeles and Orange County, let me tell you}, the heat, the problems we have had with our apartment/TV set up, the many things I have to work on in order to make it happen here in general, our whole new life together, and the heat...it's peanuts but they all add up and they all cause pain. So, the massage was needed. Next month I am going back. I felt so much more relaxed and happy afterwards. Best Friday Date ever!

Saturday and Sunday we pretty much just chilled. He had to work and I was trying to find new recipes. Also, since moving up here we both have been dealing with allergies. We have always had allergies before and after a few weeks they'd go away. Not here. Anything we have been taking works only a few hours and then we are right back to where we started. Crying, sneezing, more crying, swollen eyes, you name it. Many people suggested to go to a local beekeeper and buy local honey sticks, or honey. Saturday it was our turn to stop by and get some honey because I was tired of the constant sneezing and watery eyes. The honey is amazing, and hopefully after a while will help us get adjusted to the area.

Other than that it was a boring weekend.
I am hoping for some more fun ones. I miss my girlfriends and brunch dates, or just coffee dates. Hopefully I find a way to enjoy these fun moments up here as well; with or without my friends. Hahaha. I will have a Selma-by-herself Brunch weekend update coming soon...let's hope that will never happen.

Happy Monday everyone.

Sending you warm hugs, literally.

xoxo

End of My Summer List

Fall is basically around the corner {this Monday!! September 1 is when it starts for me - I know, so unofficial} and so I decided that it is time to look back at this terribly hot summer.

A while back I made a summer list, and today I am closing it to see what I have accomplished. Over time I went back to the list to see what I needed to do or should do to make summer 2014 fun, colorful, and especially eventful. I wanted this summer to be a great one especially since it marked a new part of my life.  Easier said or written than done.

Here's my list, and what I was able to accomplish between July 1 and today August 31:

  • Explore more of Sacramento and surroundings {7.16.14}
  • Visit Orange County {going early August - 8.18.14}
  • Travel to and explore the Reno area {completed, yet will be going back a few times}
  • Visit San Francisco {7.21.14}
  • Visit Monterey
  • Go to one or two wineries {did so, on 8.29.14}
  • Make strawberry mojitos
  • Make sangrias
  • Make popsicles
  • Bake a gluten free apple pie, and maybe a plum pie
  • Go to the Farmer's Market hopefully twice a month {went to a daily market, does that count?}
  • Go to the beach because we miss it so terribly much
  • Watch a movie at an outdoor movie theater – preferably a drive-in theater
  • Go hiking
  • Read at least four books {I managed to read three, so I kinda fulfilled this, no?}
  • Catch up on my favorite shows (Criminal Minds included)
  • Decorate the apartment with artwork so it looks welcoming and less boring
  • Turn off my phone for at least two hours each day starting July 1 for two months (yes, each day) - {each day was hard; so it took a while to get used to this...let's just say I tried and I halfway succeeded}
  • Find a job (not a summer goal but it must happen this summer) - {volunteer work found, unpaid, but it was at least a distraction}
Do you make lists, or am I the only crazy one?

My summer started promising, and then it got a little hectic. I wanted to do so much and ended up crossing almost nothing off of my list. I will try to make sangria, and then the recipe will be up soon. We are still planning on going to an outdoor movie theater. We waited until temperatures dropped. It wasn't comfortable or romantic to watch a movie with temps in the high 80s at night. Cooler temps are more fun!! Also, the apple pie recipe should be up soon. So much has happened in the past few weeks, heck days, and so much is going to happen in the next few weeks so bear with me and my recipes, my recaps, and especially with details to what actually happened on Friday - my big day! WOW.

I am definitely ready for fall!! Hope you are too. :)

xoxo

Sacramento

It has been over six weeks that we moved from the L.A./OC area to Sacramento. I moved without expectations. I knew it was going to be very different, and slightly maybe even difficult. I knew there was a possibility for it all to be challenging; after all, a move to a different and unknown area is always a bit of a challenge. Not sure how my favorite person felt before the move. He was looking forward to experiencing something new - that is for sure. So far, it's not been my favorite move at all. I don't hate it but I am not liking it either. There, I said it. Granted, we still have to adjust, and we still have to find places to go to and feel okay with. We are working on it every week!

Just like the not working lights in the letter C, that's how I see this move. We have only been here for a little over six weeks but I am so looking forward to moving away again, preferably down south or just closer to San Francisco. Yet, all in due time. Until then, I am trying to really make it happen here, and make the best out of this area. Maybe it's going to surprise me over the next year...hopefully.

My dislike towards this area (let's hope this changes soon!!!) did not prevent me from exploring it. I mean, we made the effort to move and we want to make it happen at least for the time being. Discover what this city and surrounding areas offer is a must - so we started a little....here's a few photos.

These ducks are my highlight. In our community we not only have ducks and duck babies walking around (they are also quite entertaining to listen to), we also have four turkeys, a peacock and a bunch of dogs and at least three cats. My highlight are the ducks. Leftover, stale bread is what I feed them at the pond. Apparently I am not the only one. :) Plus, they love it. Unfortunately, we discovered a few hatched eggs...but hatched before they were due and ready. My heart broke. :(

With a few exceptions {restaurants, museums, galleries, boutiques} we have pretty much covered/seen Sacramento's  downtown/midtown/oldtown section. There's not much else within the city. I doubt that shopping plazas almost outside the city count with an enormous WalMart and Ikea center. Anyways, I am sure we will come across insider tips on great restaurants and places to see and experience...and I will make sure to document and share. Yes I am trying to be very positive here.

This place by far has become my favorite spot to eat. It reminds me of Los Angeles, NYC, and Berlin. Nice combo. Food so far has been fantastic. I have yet to go in when it is Brunch Time, but Cafeteria 15L is definitely a place I would recommend to stop by and eat in.

We have ventured outside the city and visited Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova. Also, we went to Reno a few times mainly because family lives there now. Next stops are the wine countries, my beloved San Francisco, and maybe even Monterey again. We shall see. Fingers crossed my attitude turns into something better...I have yet to figure this place out, so I won't give up. I refuse to.

Have you ever been up here? Do you live up here? Moved away from here?
Ideas? Suggestions?
Send them my way!

xoxo

Love is in the Air

I have news my friends. BIG ones.
For starters, I officially left Orange County behind and moved up to Sacramento.
My favorite person and I both moved in, started unpacking, and making our tiny apartment home. There's still a lot that needs to be done so it really feels like home; all in due time though.
I have yet to get used to Sacramento. Change was needed. I am not sure if I am completely ready for so much change. Yet, the area we live in is gorgeous. It reminds me a lot of Pasadena. I feel like I am going to walk into some of the Walkers from Brothers & Sisters. Seriously, it's really really beautiful here. The temperatures however, ohmygosh, that is a different story. I am used to heat but this heat is weird and unfriendly.  All in all though, besides the terrible and unprofessional internet/tv service problem we have had, our first month in Sacramento has been good. Updates to follow, of course.

Second, I owe you a few updates...my Birthday Weekend for sure. :)

It was a fun and long weekend. I enjoyed it immensely, and loved spending time with close friends/family.
The photo below was taken at Thousand Step Beach in Laguna Beach. We had a fun day there, and got a little sunburned...and I still have the tan today. YAY.

And, since the title of this post is Love is in the Air...well...the BIG news is...
...I'm engaged.
Yes, my favorite person proposed and I said yes.
This has not just happened, it happened a while back in May and I had the hardest time keeping it to myself. Yes I waited this long. I know. Yet, some things just needed to settled in and be quietly celebrated. It has not fully set in yet that I am actually engaged to be married but soon it will. Some of you may think, wait, what? How is this possible when we never fully heard of him or any relationship whatsoever? Well, I mentioned him here and there, but never made it public. I am not one to boast, and I just don't feel like I needed to share details about our relationship to the whole wide world. I love it when others do, it is just not my thing. Hope this is okay.

But yes, that's the BIG news my readers...and that's also my Monday Morning Gossip. :)

Linking up with Leeann and Kimberlee.

A Summer List

Every year right around spring and early beginning of summer I start to dream of what summer will have in store for me. I would create a list with things I always wanted to try, do, or explore. I would also have lists for each season but the summer list would be the biggest of all. Usually, I would travel around Europe; Germany, France, Italy, Spain, England, Greece or/and Turkey. I would also hang out with friends and enjoy open-air music festivals, eat out more than usual and enjoy late summer nights out on the town – with 80 degrees at 9 at night it would feel pretty darn good.

This year my summer looks a little different. I am not traveling to Europe. I am far away from my friends and family. I am in California. I am personally and hopefully also professionally growing. Plus, I am no longer alone. Yet, all this change will not hinder me to dream of fun summer activities as well as make some of these dreams actually come true – and a new place just asks for a fun and new summer list with exciting things to do!

Here’s my list for this year. It will be fun to come back to this list and cross a few things off from time to time. After all, I want this summer to be a great one; especially since this marks a new part of my life.

  • Explore more of Sacramento and surroundings {as of 7/1 we saw 95% of Sacto}
  • Visit Orange County {going early August}
  • Travel to and explore the Reno area {completed, yet will be going back a few times}
  • Visit San Francisco
  • Visit Monterey
  • Go to one or two wineries
  • Make strawberry mojitos
  • Make sangrias
  • Make popsicles
  • Bake a gluten free apple pie, and maybe a plum pie
  • Go to the Farmer's Market hopefully twice a month
  • Go to the beach because we miss it so terribly much
  • Watch a movie at an outdoor movie theater – preferably a drive-in theater
  • Go hiking
  • Read at least four books
  • Catch up on my favorite shows (Criminal Minds included)
  • Decorate the apartment with artwork so it looks welcoming and less boring
  • Turn off my phone for at least two hours each day starting July 1 for two months (yes, each day)
  • Find a job (not a summer goal but it must happen this summer)
Do you make lists, or am I the only crazy one?
Would love to hear what you have planned this summer.

Have a great weekend.

The Time I (Almost) Lost My Patience

Hi my lovely readers,

I am back; at least for today. Bear with me. Thank you.
****
Before I tell you the story I'd like to point out that I am typing this from an open wifi connection I found on our property (given by our apartment community yet not necessarily with the best connection hence my non existing posts and comments). Also, I would like to point out that I handled it all sooooo very well.

May 23 I graduated and celebrated with close friends. I was also packing my belongings because I was soon about to move over 600 miles north to Sacramento. May 28 is when my big birthday weekend took place. Initially I wanted to invite people and get together but then thought - due to my move, my life changing decision to move in with my favorite person, and the apparent truth that I won't be seeing my mom and friends over the summer - it was better to keep the partying short, simple and only with close close friends. Also, if it would have been a big number to celebrate maybe I would have reconsidered.

Anyways, my birthday weekend was more like a week. We saw Maleficent at El Capitan, and let me tell you (and I'm sure I am so behind on this)...it was an amazing film. Angelina Jolie's performance was perfect and I am so glad my girls and I went out and saw it opening night! We also went out for lunches, dinners, cocktails (thank you Rooftop Lounge in Laguna Beach), brunches, bowling, movies and had a bitter sweet ending to it all.
It was a busy pre-Birthday combined with graduation, moving away, and happy future celebration...busy busy.

{via}

On my birthday I moved. Well, we moved.
It wasn't my favorite thing to do because not only did it involve driving 7-8 hours (waking up at 3 and leaving before 4am to not hit traffic with a trailer behind us) but it also involved moving furniture, realizing that I no longer was in a place with familiar stores and plazas, and that my life will be different.

I am so glad I had guest bloggers helping me out during this time.

I'd like to thank each and every contributor for their posts and appreciate their help.
Plus, I enjoyed reading the posts...so if you haven't read them yet, please hop on over and check out

Every move involves some kind of hardship. Not only is it a new place, but in our case also a new city/area and we had and still have to get used to it all. Things need to get organized, changed, and we need time to settle in...etc etc. Everything worked out well BUT the internet and TV connection. As of right now, we are still not having either installed, and the way it looks it may never happen. They called and said tomorrow between 10-12 but I only believe it when I see a channel finally flickering on our TV and me using my laptop from somewhere in our apartment. Only then can I breathe and smile again. Kidding, I'm breathing and smiling but not having tv and internet for an entire month can be frustrating. I never thought it would feel this bad but yes it is.

The only company that works in our area has the most impossible and seriously worst customer service. They have an issue. Literally. Today marks week four going into five of an hopeful installation. Again, I only believe it when I see it. I mean, wtf?!?????

Not only did we miss out on tv (yes redbox and our DVDs helped a little), we also missed out on the internet. The hotspot thing on our phones only does little work, and I wasn't willing to walk 30 minutes to Starbucks to get free wifi (if working) just to check mails, update everything, and apply for jobs. I was devastated. Also I lost touch with the outer world. Hahahahaha!! My mom sent me updates on soccer scores, and occasional other news. My phone was too small to check news, updates or read blogs; let alone apply so I can finally earn some $$$$$.

Last week I hit my low point. I was ready to go off in flames. Explode. This weekend I wrote and orally practiced (yes yes! - I am a nerd) a whole written speech and statement to this company. I am going to (again) complain about the poor and unprofessional service we have been dealing with and given. I want compensation. If they come in tomorrow (yes if) and it all gets installed I will be surprised. If they show up tomorrow, and still have the nerve to charge us something for this month my patience will be gone. Let me rephrase, no matter where you live and read this you will hear me scream!!!!!

I have patience. I have real strong patience. I could have exploded the first week, or the second or the third. But I did not. Today? My patience is gone. I'm holding off from exploding. I handled it well so far but truth be told, I can't hold it in any longer. I'm done. If need be I'm working my butt off to talk to the founder of this unprofessional company or someone wayyyyy up there because I do not tolerate any more waiting. I simply do not. Not fair to us, not fair to friends, family, and holy cow, not fair to any future prospective customer of theirs.

So my lovely readers...have I lost you?
I probably have. I needed to vent, I needed to share and most importantly I needed to reconnect. Well, still do.

If I still have your attention I thank you.
My regular posts will be up soon again...once our month-long dilemma of no internet will be resolved. In the meantime, stop by Instagram or Twitter...and keep in touch.

Miss you all,

xoxo

June 20, 2014

Quick hello!

Hi my lovely readers,

Is anyone still around?! Someone?
It's been a while. A very long while to be honest. So much has happened and I have so much to tell you. However, this may take a while. I hope not too long. If you follow me on twitter you probably saw a few tweets about me not having internet or tv. This should have been installed first week of June (yes the week we moved to Sacramento). Unfortunately, some higher power didn't want us to have tv or internet. It wanted us to experience difficulty and frustration over a very simple and needed thing. I'm still mad. I'm still not having a way to go online but to use my phone. I hate this. So I can't blog, talk, research, and what not.

Yet even with us not having access to the web, I wanted to let you know I am still around and will return once this issue is resolved. In the meantime follow on Instagram or Twitter if you want to hear about my whereabouts. If we are friends on Facebook you get to see and hear even more of me and my drama. Hahaha.

I hope you enjoyed my helpers by guest blogging while I was gone. I was hoping I could be working by now but seems thigs aren't going as planned. So if you're bored just reread my former posts. That's what I'm mostly doing, too. ;-)

Anyways, wanted to stop by and say hello.

Miss you all.
I will be back but for now I need to put my phone away. Writing on this blog on a phone is a major pain in the you-know-what.

Xoxo
